New Roku Premiere 4K Streaming Player Now Available For $39.99

In short: Last month, Roku announced a new 4K streaming player that costs just $39.99, in the Roku Premiere 4K. Now that streaming player is available for purchase from both Roku’s website and Amazon. This is the cheapest 4K streaming player that is currently available, undercutting Amazon’s latest Fire TV Stick 4K that it announced last week, which is $49.99. The new Roku Premiere 4K does still come with all of your favorite apps and games, including Netflix, Hulu, Google Play Movies & TV, YouTube and so much more. And of course The Roku Channel is also available, which provides you with a ton of movies and TV shows for free (of course, this is ad-supported).

Background: Roku is the biggest player in the streaming player space right now, beating out Amazon, Apple and Google. That might be a bit of a surprise, but when you look at Roku’s lineup, it’s really not a surprise. Roku has something for everyone, and now with the new Roku Premiere 4K being available, it brings 4K content down to an even cheaper price point, so that even more people can pick up the Roku Premiere 4K and enjoy even crisper video.

Impact: The Roku Premiere 4K does come with the Roku remote which includes dedicated buttons for things like Netflix, and Amazon Prime Video. But it also has a headphone jack for being able to listen privately and not wake up others in your home. Of course, you can also use the Roku Remote app for Android and iOS (it is also available for Fire tablets in the Amazon App Store), in case you do lose the Roku remote. You can pick up the Roku Premiere 4K from both Amazon and Roku’s own website. With Amazon, you will get free two-day shipping if you do have Amazon Prime – otherwise it’ll take about a week to arrive.
