Tasker v5.5 Is Here And It Makes Automation Really Simple

In Short: Tasker has just received a new update, v5.5, and it makes automation extremely simple. The company implemented these changes via the TaskerNet, and the company explains it as a “place to share an import pre-made projects”. Using TaskerNet, you can import projects that others have made, in other words, you do not have to do anything yourself, as Tasker can be quite challenging if you’re not ready to spend some time figuring things out and messing with triggers, tasks, actions, scenes, and so on. This new change actually works quite similarly to IFTTT, where you can adopt what others have made and use it yourself. Aside from TaskerNet, the company also made it possible for you to access Google Drive for backups that you may have saved. This update is currently rolling out to everyone via the Google Play Store, but it’s a gradual rollout, so it’s not available to everyone this very moment.

Background: Tasker is an automation app that has been around for a long, long time, and it’s one of the most popular automation apps for Android. People regard to it as the most capable automation app for Android, and considering that it offers endless possibilities, some of which require root, it quite probably is. Tasker has been downloaded way over 1 million times, and even though the app was removed from the Play Store back in 2015, it was returned shortly after.

Impact: Tasker v5.5 will make this application more appealing to those of you who don’t want to spend time setting everything up manually, and this is a move that was to be expected from Tasker, though some people expected it to come even sooner. The company has released a promo video for this update, in order to showcase the changes we’ve mentioned, and that video is embedded down below, in case you’d like to check it out.
