Two Samsung Galaxy S10 cases have just leaked from two different sources, and one of them actually suggests that a headphone jack is not going anywhere. Let’s kick things off with the branded case that leaked, a case from Ghostek. This leak comes from Forbes, and it includes a render of the Galaxy S10. Interestingly enough, this is the Galaxy S10, and not the Galaxy S10+, and yet it has three cameras on the back, while most reports suggested that the regular Galaxy S10 model will sport two cameras on the back. This seems to be a silicone case which sports some additional protection on the corners, and some pattern on the sides for a better grip. According to this case, the phone will include a power / lock key on the right, while the volume up and down buttons will be included on the left, along with a dedicated Bixby key.
The second leak comes in form of a short video which shows off an unbranded Galaxy S10 case. This seems to be your regular silicone case, and it confirms button placement that the Ghostek case reported, while it also has that wide cutout on the back for three cameras and an LED flash. Neither of these two cases sport a cutout for a fingerprint scanner on the back, which suggests that the two phones will sport an in-display fingerprint scanner, as a cutout on the side for a side-facing fingerprint scanner is not included either. In any case, the second case that leaked shows us a cutout on the bottom of the Type-C port, a cutout for the phone’s loudspeaker, and even a cutout for a 3.5mm headphone jack, which suggests that Samsung is not planning to remove a headphone jack with the Galaxy S10 series.
Background: The Galaxy S10 actually leaked earlier today along with the Galaxy S10 Lite and Galaxy S10+, as sketches for all three phones surfaced, along with their size comparison, and display sizes. The Galaxy S10 will sport a larger display than the Galaxy S9, it seems, as it will ship with a 6.1-inch display, but it will sport thinner bezels, thanks to that display camera cutout, so it will probably be the case size as the Galaxy S9, or at least close to it, as the Galaxy S9 sports a 5.8-inch panel. The Galaxy S10 Lite will include a 5.8-inch display, while the Galaxy S10+ is rumored to include a 6.4-inch panel. The “premium” Galaxy S10 model will launch after these three devices, according to rumors, and it will sport a 6.7-inch display, ceramic back, 5G supports, and six cameras overall.
Impact: The Galaxy S10 is, without a doubt, one of the most anticipating smartphones of 2019, and if rumors are to be believed, it will launch along with the Galaxy S10 Lite and Galaxy S10+, while the “premium” model will arrive at a later date. The Galaxy S10 series will look significantly different than the Galaxy S9 series, as expected, as Samsung is known to change up the design language every two years. The Galaxy S10 series is expected to debut at next year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) in February, but nothing has been confirmed just yet.
