The Samsung Galaxy S10 has been leaking out for quite some time now, and a new piece of info has just surfaced, claiming that the phone went into mass production sooner than expected. According to the source, Samsung has already started the Galaxy S10 production, though it does not explain why. That being said, Samsung is quite probably expecting high demand for its Galaxy S10 flagships, so that may be the reason why the phone has already hit the mass production stage. The Galaxy S10 devices won’t be that easy to assemble, either, at least if rumors are true, as Samsung is including a lot of tech inside, not to mention that those display camera holes need to be processed properly, so the sheer complexity of the production procedure may have something to do with the fact they’re already in mass production. Usually, Samsung pushes its smartphone to the mass production stage sometime in January, so it’s not exactly that early, but it’s still earlier than what we’re used to seeing.
Should We Expect Three Or Four Models?
A ton of rumors already surfaced regarding the Galaxy S10, and most of them are suggesting that the company will release four Galaxy S10 models. Originally, the Galaxy S10, S10+, S10 Lite, and the “premium” Galaxy S10 were mentioned, but a rumor that popped up yesterday claims that the regular Galaxy S10 will ship with the Galaxy S10 Edge name instead. That being said, these four devices will be different, of course, and the “premium” variant will be the most expensive one, at least according to rumors. That variant of the phone is rumored to include a 6.7-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED display, a ceramic backplate, 5G support, and a whopping 12GB of RAM. All the other variants of the phone will be made out of metal and glass, while the Galaxy S10 Lite will be the most affordable out of the bunch, as it is rumored to ship with a 5.8-inch display and 4GB of RAM. The Galaxy S10 (Edge) and S10+, on the other hand, will probably be quite similar in every way except size, while they will also include a different number of front-facing cameras. The Galaxy S10 (Edge) is expected to ship with a single camera on the front, while the Galaxy S10+ is said to include two such cameras in the top-right portion of its display. All the Galaxy S10 models will be fueled by the Exynos 9820 or Snapdragon 855, depending on the market, and all of them will ship with Android 9 Pie, and Samsung’s all-new One UI skin.
Launch Date?
Samsung did not confirm the launch date of its Galaxy S10 units just yet, it’s still too early, but three out of four smartphones are rumored to arrive in February, during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. The Galaxy S10 Lite, S10 (Edge), and S10+ are expected to launch at MWC, while the “premium” variant of the phone will arrive later on, though we still do not know when exactly. Samsung will face plenty of competition in the first half of the year, as per usual, though this time not only from regular smartphones, as several foldable devices are expected to arrive in H1 2019 as well, including Samsung’s, LG’s, OPPO’s, and Huawei’s offerings.
