The Holidays are right around the corner, with Christmas happening next Tuesday and then New Years a week later. That means that there’s going to be lots of get-togethers with family, and friends. Google wants to make sure that everyone knows that the Google Home Hub can help make your holidays a bit more festive and easier to get through. The holidays are always a busy time, whether that is cooking, getting gifts, or planning where you are going on Christmas day. The Google Home Hub can help you out in many ways, some that you may not have even known.
Google Assistant, via the Google Home Hub or any other Google Assistant device, can do all of this. And that includes turning on the Christmas lights. Instead of needing crawl under the Christmas tree to turn them on, pick up a smart plug (they run about $20 or less, especially during the holiday shopping season). And with that, you’ll be able to tell the Google Assistant to turn on the Christmas lights in your home. If you want to go a step further, you could set up a Routine with the Google Assistant (maybe something like “OK Google, start Christmas”) which could turn on the lights, and also start playing some Christmas songs on your Google Home Max or another speaker at home.
Use Google To Prepare For Santa’s Arrival
If you do have kids, they are going to be excited for Santa to come and bring them toys. Google can also help with that. Thanks to the Google Assistant working with Google’s very popular Santa Tracker app, you can ask “Hey Google, Where’s Santa” on Christmas Eve, and it will tell you where the big guy is. Now if it’s before Christmas eve, you can ask the Google Assistant to “Call Santa” and your kids will get to talk to Santa and rehearse with him for his musical concert that happens after Christmas. Now this will work with any Google Assistant-enabled device – including the Google Home, Sony LF-S50G and other speakers. But you can get a cooler experience with a smart display like the Google Home Hub, due to the fact that it does have that display there. So you can actually see Santa.
Google Assistant Can Make Family Time More Fun
During the holidays, you’re spending a ton of time with family. This is the perfect time to show them pictures, whether that is from a trip you took this year, or maybe you want to show some pictures of your kids and how much they’ve grown this year. The Google Home Hub and Google Photos can help you out there. You can ask the Google Assistant to show you photos from “last December” or from a specific location or album – if you are one that has a ton of albums, they now support up to 2000 pictures! Google Assistant can also read a story to you, and with the Home Hub, it can show you the story too, for an even better experience. The Google Assistant can also play many different games. Perhaps after the kids are asleep, the adults might want to play some games, the Google Assistant can help with that. There are a number of trivia games available, as well as some charades that you can also play with everyone during the holidays.
Google Home Hub Has A Ton Of Tricks Up Its Sleeve
The Google Home Hub was only announced back in October for $149 (and has been on sale as low as $99 during the holiday shopping season), but it already has a ton of great features available to help you get through the holidays. A big part of this is because it does have the Google Assistant built-in, and that is not new. Google has been working on the Assistant for many years – even before the Google Home launched in 2016. And it continues to get new features, as well as cool new ways to use it for different things. Google wants to make sure you are using the Google Assistant for literally everything, and this holiday season you really can. Google Assistant can help you in the kitchen by giving you recipes to cook, it can even show you YouTube videos for these recipes. It can also read stories to your kids so they can go to sleep, help them find out where Santa is and so much more. If you don’t already own a Google Home Hub, it is definitely worth picking up this holiday season.
