CHUWI is planning to crowd-fund a new tablet, the CHUWI Ubook. The company has just announced that the device will be launched on Kickstarter in about two weeks, and it also said that you can already register your e-mail on the company’s official website in order to get a 25-percent super early bird discount.
That being said, the CHUWI Ubook will feature a U-shaped kickstand, similar to the HP Spectre X2, and the company has not only released info regarding the device’s arrival on Kickstarter, but has also shared some images of the tablet, along with its specifications.
First and foremost, it is worth noting that this is a Windows 10-based tablet, and that a keyboard for it will be available, as shown in the provided images. The device is actually said to cost under $400, which is not exactly surprising as such price tags are expected when it comes to CHUWI, that China-based company usually releases quite affordable devices, as it’s trying to offer a lot of tech while not pushing too far when it comes to pricing.
The CHUWI Ubook will be made out of metal, it seems, while its bezels will not by razor-thin, and that is probably a good thing, as you’ll need to grab onto it for something, so those bezels around it will probably be useful.
Now, in terms of specs, the device will include an 11.6-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, along with 8GB of LPDDR3 RAM, and 128GB or 1TB of storage (SSD drive), so at least two variants of the tablet will be available
Intel’s Core M3 14nm dual-core processor will fuel the device, and it will be clocked at 2.2GHz. A 30.4Wh battery will also be a part of the package, says the company, while Windows 10 Home 64-bit OS will come pre-installed on the CHUWI Ubook. The tablet will include two speakers, one USB-C port, two USB-A ports, a microphone, a microSD card slots, an HDMI D type port, a charging port, and even a 3.5mm headphone jack.
That is pretty much all the info that the company shared up to this point, but the device will surface on Kickstarter in about two weeks (a countdown is available on the company’s website), so we’re expecting to see even more info included there. Once again, if you’re interested in this tablet, you can already register on the company’s website in order to get an early 25-percent discount, just use the link down below.
