CHUWI Explains Its Logic Behind Choosing CPU For Ubook Tablet

CHUWI had announced recently that its Ubook tablet will be fueled by the Intel m3-6Y30 processor, and the company has just revealed why will that be the case. Before we get around to it, it is worth noting that the CHUWI Ubook is the company’s upcoming Windows 10-powered 2-in-1 tablet.

The company says that the Intel m3-6Y30 is a 14nm processor, which is actually really power-efficient, while it provides more than enough power for products like the CHUWI Ubook. The company actually compared the Intel m3-6Y30 processor with the Celeron N4100 using the CINEBENCH R15 tool in order to show its consumers that the m3-6Y30 offers better performance on paper. The CPU test score is about 8-percent higher, while OpenGL performance is a lot better in m3-6Y30’s case. That is not exactly all that surprising considering that the Intel m3-6Y30 is a much newer processor.

CHUWI also utilized PC Mark test in order to show that the Intel m3-6Y30’s score is about 20-percent higher than that of the Celeron N4100. The m3-7Y30 is a better solution, but the m3-6Y30 is not far behind, at all, which is probably why CHUWI opted to include it, in order to save some money and not risk much in the performance department.

Now, as far as CHUWI Ubook itself is concerned, it is a tablet that comes with a kickstand, though you can attach a keyboard to it if you want, and essentially turn it into a laptop. The device will be made out of metal, and it will surface on Kickstarter really soon, in case you’re planning on backing it.

The company did not exactly share much info about this tablet at this point, but we do know that it will be quite compact, as it will ship with an 11.6-inch IPS, fully laminated display. The device will include 8GB of LPDDR3 RAM, and it will offer up to 1TB of SSD storage space.

The CHUWI Ubook will weigh 760 grams, while Windows 10 will come pre-installed on the device. The tablet will support 1,024 pressure-level styluses, and will have plenty of ports included, unlike some of Apple’s MacBooks.

It is also worth noting that the company is running a giveaway for this tablet, you can participate by navigating to the link down below, and scrolling to the very end of that page. You can enter the company’s giveaway until January 31, and one lucky customer will get a free CHUWI Ubook.
