The Exynos variant of the Galaxy S10 has surfaced on Geekbench. As most of you know, Samsung plans to release both Exynos 9820 and Snapdragon 855 variants of its Galaxy S10 smartphones, in order to cater to all markets, and this is the Exynos 9820 variant of the Galaxy S10 handset.
As you can see, the phone comes with a model number “SM-G973N”, and its benchmark scores have been revealed along with some of its specs. The phone managed to hit 4,382 points in the single-core, and 9,570 points in the multi-core test on Geekbench. This benchmark confirms that the device will ship with Android 9 Pie, and that it will pack in 6GB of RAM, at least one of its variants will, that is. The Exynos 9820 is also mentioned in the listing.
Having said that, this phone actually managed to offer a much better single-core test than the Snapdragon 855, as the Snapdragon 855 figures vary between 3,400 and 3,600 points, while this Exynos 9820 variant reached 4,382 points on Geekbench. Compared to its predecessor, the Exynos 9810, who managed to hit around 3,600-3,700 points, this is a notable improvement, but the phone still lags behind the iPhone XS Max, as that handset scored higher than 4,700 in most tests. Its multi-core result of 9,570 is not that surprising, but it’s great nonetheless.
The Exynos 9820-powered variant of the Galaxy S10 will reach Europe and India, amongst other markets, while the Snapdragon 855 model will hit the US and China. All in all, if the Galaxy S9 was fueled by Qualcomm’s processor in your region, the Galaxy S10 will be as well, same goes for the Exynos variant.
Other Galaxy S10 Variants
The vanilla Galaxy S10 model is not the only one Samsung aims to announce on February 20, not by a long shot. The Galaxy S10E and Galaxy S10+ are also expected to arrive during that event, and maybe even the Galaxy S10X aka Galaxy S10 X, even though that model is rumored to arrive at a later date, more on that later.
The Galaxy S10E will be the most affordable variant of the Galaxy S10, it will ship with a flat 5.8-inch display, and it will include two cameras on the back, and a side-facing fingerprint scanner, it seems. The Galaxy S10 and S10+ will sport three cameras on the back, and in-display fingerprint scanners… it seems like the Galaxy S10 and S10+ will be more alike than people thought, as the only difference will be in display size, battery size, and general footprint.
All Galaxy S10 variants will ship with Android 9 Pie out of the box, with Samsung’s One UI overlay on top of it, and all of them, except the Galaxy S10X, will include a glass back, the Galaxy S10X is expected to ship with a ceramic backplate.
The Galaxy S10X is rumored to be the only 5G-enabled variant of the Galaxy S10, and in addition to 5G support and a ceramic backplate, the phone is rumored to include 10GB / 12GB of RAM, and four cameras on the back. On top of that, you can expect to see a 6.7-inch curved, QHD+ Super AMOLED display on this smartphone, and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
