The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 seems to be on the way, and the company has decided to release some official images of the device prior to its release, even though Xiaomi did not confirm these images are showing the Redmi Note 7, it’s quite probable they do. Three images of the device have been shared via Weibo (Chinese social network), and these images do confirm that the phone will ship with a 48-megapixel primary camera (take a look at the label below the phone’s dual camera setup on the back), as a couple of other smartphones that are coming from China. This is almost certainly Sony’s IMX586 sensor which was announced back in July last year, and in addition to the upcoming Redmi Note 7, the Huawei Nova 4 also ships with that sensor, while it seems like the Honor View 20 will include it as well. Now, if you take a look at the provided images, you will be able to see only the back side of the device, but that is enough to notice that the phone will be made out of metal and glass. The phone’s back side will be flat, but it seems like chamfered edges will be included. Redmi’s logo is easily visible on the back of the device, and there are two cameras included on the back, and those two cameras protrude quite a bit in the provided images, actually, which is not all that surprising considering we’re looking at a 48-megapixel sensor here, and the phone will be quite thin. A SIM card tray is included on the left-hand side of this smartphone, which means that the power / lock, volume up, and volume down keys are included on the right. Three color variants of the Redmi Note 7 are shown in the provided images, two gradient ones, and a pure black one. Based on these images, one of the Redmi Note 7 variants will offer a combination between red and purple colors, while the other gradient model will combine blue and purple colors.
What Else Do We Know About The Redmi Note 7?
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 actually surfaced on Geekbench quite recently, and that listing suggested that the phone will ship with 6GB of RAM, and a 64-bit octa-core processor manufactured by Qualcomm. The device was able to score 1,462 points in the single-core, and 4,556 points in the multi-core test on Geekbench. This could suggest that the Snapdragon 660 will fuel the phone, despite the fact pretty much everyone expected to see the Snapdragon 710 being utilized in the Redmi Note 7, which could still happen. A device which could be the Redmi Note 7 also surfaced on TENAA recently, which means it got certified in China, and even though that was not a full-fledged listing, we did get some info out of it. If the TENAA listing and leaks are accurate, we can expect the Redmi Note 7 to sport a 6.3-inch display, and that will probably be a fullHD+ display. Redmi Is Now Xiaomi’s Sub-Brand
Xiaomi actually announced quite recently that Redmi has become its sub-brand, five years after the very first Redmi-branded smartphone got announced. Up until now, “Redmi” was only a branding for Xiaomi’s entry-level and mid-range phones, like “Galaxy” is for Samsung’s Android phones in general, for example, or “Galaxy A” for mid-range ones. Redmi is a sub-brand now, and that is a move that a number of Chinese companies made in the past. Redmi-branded smartphones have been extremely successful in the past, and are probably the main reason Xiaomi has its status today, as the company’s Redmi-branded phones are by far the best-selling ones, those are the phone that managed to secure Xiaomi’s no.1 place in India.
