Known tipster Roland Quandt just shared an image on Twitter which compares a regular Samsung Galaxy S10+ with the 5G-enabled one. If you take a look at the image provided above, you will be able to see the 5G-enabled, Ceramic Black Galaxy S10+ on the left, and the Prism Black Galaxy S10+ on the right. This image actually reveals more info that you think, let’s dig in.
First and foremost, the source says that these are official renders that he managed to get his hands on to. Now, the Ceramic Black Galaxy S10+ has a bit of a metallic / brownish hue to it, that goes for its frame as well, while the Prism Black model is actually black, with a sheet of glass included over the color. Needless to say, the Ceramic Black model actually comes with a ceramic backplate, while all the other variants of the Galaxy S10 will sport glass backs.
Now, this image also confirms that the 5G-enabled Galaxy S10+ will not sport four cameras, but “only” three as the regular Galaxy S10+ model, which is why this Ceramic Black model is referred to as the top-of-the-line Galaxy S10+ variant, it will sport basically the same design as the Galaxy S10+, and the only difference will come to that backplate and color. Now, that also means that the Ceramic Black Galaxy S10+ will sport the same display size as the regular Galaxy S10+, and not a 6.7-inch panel as some rumors suggested.
Speaking of which, the Galaxy S10+ will include a 6.4-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED, curved display, at least if rumors are to be believed. Now, you can see that the back side of the Galaxy S10+ will be curved and that Samsung logo is placed on the back as well. The phone’s cameras are horizontally-aligned, with an LED flash and what seems to be a heart rate sensor included on the right.
You will also notice that a fingerprint scanner is not located on the back of these two phones, that’s because it will be included underneath their displays. These two images also confirm the position of physical keys on the Galaxy S10+, as the device will sport a power / lock key on the right, while the volume up, volume down, and Bixby buttons will be located on the left. Interestingly enough, that power / lock key seems to be placed quite high-up on the right side and considering that these two phones will be quite large, it will be interesting to see why Samsung opted to do that.
… but that’s not all, folks
Samsung will unveil its Galaxy S10 lineup on February 20, during the company’s Unpacked press event in San Francisco. The Galaxy S10e, S10, and S10+ handsets will be announced, though the Ceramic Black variant of the Galaxy S10+ will probably not go on sale as soon as all the other variants. The regular Galaxy S10 variants will reportedly become available for pre-order on February 21, and go on sale two weeks after that, while the Ceramic Black, 5G-enabled unit will have to wait a bit longer, at least according to rumors.
The Galaxy S10e will be the most affordable Galaxy S10 variants, and it will be the only phone to sport a flat display, two cameras on the back, and a side-facing fingerprint scanner. The Galaxy S10 and S10+ will be more or less identical in all areas except selfie cameras, battery size, and general footprint. The Galaxy S10+ Ceramic Black edition will include 5G connectivity, ceramic backplate, more RAM, and more storage than a regular Galaxy S10+ model.
