Samsung had introduced its Galaxy S10 series a couple of days ago, and the company introduced four smartphones as part of the series. If you’re interested in seeing how two of those phones did in benchmarks, the Galaxy S10 and S10+, well, GSM Arena submitted them to a number of tests just to see how things look on paper. Do keep in mind that only the Exynos 9820-powered Galaxy S10 and S10+ units were tested, and it’s also worth saying that benchmarks do not really mirror real-life use, of course.
The Exynos 9820-powered Galaxy S10 units will be sold in Europe, India and a number of other markets, you will not see those versions of Galaxy S10 handsets in the US or China, though. In any case, the Galaxy S10 and S10+ did really well across a number of benchmarks, as they were tested on Geekbench 4.1, AnTuTu, GFX 3.0, GFX 3.1, and Aztek Vulkan. Results are available in the gallery down below, along with rankings, as the Galaxy S10 series is still not at the very top of the charts across these benchmarks.
In terms of Geekbench, the Galaxy S10 and S10+ did really well, they scored 4,543 points in the single-core, and 10,521 points in the multi-core test. In terms of a single-core score, the only phone that trumps the Galaxy S10 and S10+ is the iPhone XS Max which managed to score 4,777 points. When the multi-core score is concerned, both the iPhone XS Max and Xiaomi Mi 9 are in front of the Galaxy S10 and S10+, with 11,432 and 11,181 points, respectively.
The Galaxy S10 and S10+ are third-place on AnTuTu, the two devices managed to score 340,345 points (each of them, of course), while the Xiaomi Mi 9 and iPhone XS Max were able to hit 372,006 and 353,210 points, respectively. As far as AnTuTu is concerned, the Xiaomi Mi 9 tops the charts, and by quite a margin it seems.
On GFX 3.0 and 3.1 the Galaxy S10 and S10+ did really well as well, but do not top the charts on either of those tests. In the GFX 3.0 Manhattan (1080p offscreen) test they score 102 points, 28 less than the iPhone XS Max which is first-placed. In GFX 3.0 Manhattan (onscreen), the Galaxy S10 and S10+ were able to hit 56 points, which actually puts them behind the Xiaomi Mi 9, iPhone XS Max, and even the OnePlus 6T. Galaxy S10 & S10+ Are Quite Similar
The Galaxy S10 and S10+ are two out of four devices Samsung introduced two days ago, as they’re joined by the Galaxy S10e and S10 5G. All Galaxy S10-branded phones are fueled by the Exynos 9820 in Europe and India, while the Snapdragon 855 fuels all of these devices in the US and China. All of the devices sport similar designs, but not identical, and they’re all different in terms of size and specs.
The Galaxy S10 and S10+ both ship with curved QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED displays, while both of them include three cameras on the back, and in-display fingerprint scanners under the display. Both devices come in an 8GB RAM variant, while the top-of-the-line Galaxy S10+ unit includes 12GB of RAM and a ceramic backplate.
