Remo+ has just announced two new video doorbells, the RemoBell S and RemoBell W. The RemoBell S comes with a wider field of view, improved resolution, and motion zone customization. The company’s new RemoBell products need a hardwire power connection, unlike the original RemoBell which needed batteries in order to operate.
The company says that RemoBell S is powered by existing doorbell wires that operate at voltages between 16 and 24 VAC, so installing it in your home or wherever you want to place it, should not be a problem at all. The company also notes that all motion recording can be viewed for up to 3 days via free rolling cloud storage.
The free 3-day rolling cloud storage is a per that you’ll get if you purchase the RemoBell S, and a perk that the company is quite proud of. This is a really useful feature to have, as you’re not required to make any extra purchases if you’re satisfied with a 3-day rolling cloud storage offer, even though paid options are available. This is not a perk that you’ll see out that very often, as it will save you quite a bit of cash.
The RemoBell S also features motion zone capabilities, notes the company. You can set this doorbell to send notifications your way when it detects movement in a specific motion zone, such as your porch, for example. This will help you avoid unnecessary notifications from passing cars, people walking in front of your house (on a sidewalk), and so on.
The RemoBell S offers 180-degree vertical and horizontal viewing angles, which is something that no other Remo+ product can say for itself, and those viewing angles are wider than most of Remo+’s competition has to offer. Remo+ notes that the live video view also comes with a dewarping display option, if that means something to you.
On top of everything, the RemoBell S also sports fullHD recording, clear night vision, 2-way talk (so you can use it as an intercom, basically), on-demand view from a third-party smart device, bank-level encryption, water resistance, and it also offers integrations with Alex, Google Home, and IFTTT. The RemoBell S, as you can see in the provided images, is actually quite compact, and it will well on most houses, as it’s inconspicuous.
The RemoBell W is considerably more expensive than the RemoBell S, and it comes with a free Wi-Fi indoor chime. The RemoBell W also offers fullHD video recording, while it offers a 160-degree wide-angle view. 2-way audio is available here as well, while it comes with the same 3-day rolling cloud storage perk as the RemoBell S. The RemoBell W has a PIR sensor included, while Night Vision is enabled here as well.
