ZTE Axon 10 Pro 5G Is Official With Snapdragon 855, Available In H1

ZTE has just announced its very own smartphone with 5G support at MWC 2019, the Axon 10 Pro 5G. It is worth saying that this is not exactly a full-fledged announcement, as ZTE did not give out all the necessary details about the phone, but its design has been revealed, including some spec info, and the general availability for the phone.

Snapdragon 855 Power & ZTE’s Custom Antenna Design

This smartphone is fueled by the Snapdragon 855 64-bit octa-core processor by Qualcomm, which is not exactly surprising. The Snapdragon X50 5G modem is included in the mix as well, and the phone is capable of hitting downloads speeds of up to 2Gbps thanks to that modem. Such speeds probably won’t become available that soon, but the phone can technically reach them.

The phone will offer full coverage of 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G thanks to a fully self-developed, full-band antenna design. ZTE says that its custom design reduces signal interference and that the phone also applies both a slot antenna and an adjustable antenna architecture solutions to “ensure the best RF signal”.

The company is actually planning to become one of the first smartphone manufacturers to actually release a 5G-capable smartphone, if not the first, as ZTE will introduce this phone as soon as the first commercial launch of the world’s first 5G network comes to play… well, maybe even alongside it.

ZTE Axon 10 Pro 5G Looks Familiar, But That’s Not A Bad Thing

The phone is made out of metal and glass, as most other flagship handsets out there. You will not notice a fingerprint scanner on the phone’s body, as it is included below the Axon 10 Pro 5G’s display, though ZTE did not clarify whether this is an optical or an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

There are three cameras included on the back of the device, in the top-left corner of its back, but ZTE did not provide any specific info regarding those cameras, aside from saying that AI motion capture, AI scene recognition, and AI portrait lighting adjustment will be included in the package. As you can see, two cameras are a part of one module, while one is separated. An LED flash is also placed on the back of the device, along with the AXON branding which sits in the bottom-left corner.

The phone includes a display notch, a teardrop display notch which is centered at the top of the display, and it is quite small. A front-facing camera is included inside of that notch, while an earpiece lies right about it. The ZTE Axon 10 Pro 5G also sports a thin “chin” below the display. The volume up, volume down, and power / lock buttons are placed on the right side of this phone, and those are the only physical buttons you will find on it.

ZTE also added that the AXON 10 Pro 5G features “stunning audio”, and “Axon Vision graphics optimization capabilities”. The company did not really elaborate on either one of these, but it did say that the latter will “offer consumers incredible photos and videos”.

Will Be Available In H1 2019

The ZTE Axon 10 Pro will become available in H1 2019, probably in the Spring, said ZTE, but the company did not provide any specific info regarding its pricing. We do know that the phone will be available for purchase in both Europe and China, in case you were wondering.
