NCAA March Madness Live
This app is exactly what it says it is. That is to say, it’s the official March Madness app from the NCAA, developed and presented by Turner Sports Interactive. Live streaming, stats, team tracking, and even a simple bracket game are all on board in this full-featured app. For most fans, this app will be all you need for March Madness.
ESPN
This app shouldn’t need much introduction. ESPN’s official app covers everything the network covers and then some, including NCAA and March Madness. You can listen live, stream most games, get live highlights and play-by-plays, and much more. Naturally, this is probably the go-to app if you’re more of a general sports nut and don’t want to have an app sitting around for less than a month, only to delete it and redownload it at the same time next year.
FOX Sports: Live Streaming, Scores & News
This is the official sports app of the FOX network, and it goes beyond the other apps listed thus far in that it features news from all over the NCAA space and others. While you can log into any of these apps and check out game highlights or scores, this one has news that takes place off-court, as well. On top of all that, it’s got a number of features like live streaming and personalization, too. Naturally, since it goes beyond the NCAA, it can be your go-to sports news app.
Sports Alerts – NCAA Basketball edition
This app isn’t your average highlights and scores tracker. You can use it to set customizable alerts to follow the games as they happen, including game starts and ends, score alerts, overtime, and more. If you absolutely must know what’s happening on the court on an up-to-the-second basis, this is the app for you.
theScore: Live Sports Scores, News, Stats & Videos
This app has a little bit of everything. While you can’t live stream games or listen to play-by-plays, you can check out highlights, get live score updates, and even set up customizable alerts for certain conditions. This app works across multiple sports and leagues internationally, and NCAA is included. It’s one of the more feature-rich apps here, but the user interface is incredibly simple and intuitive. If you want an app that you can use year-round that won’t drown you in features or make you wonder how to navigate, this is it.
College Basketball Live Scores, Plays, & Schedules
This is by far the most detailed text-based play-by-play app out there. NCAA fans who don’t want to or don’t have time to watch highlights or live game streams can check out a detailed play-by-play in this app, and it’s updated live. If you’re so inclined, you can literally read a game’s plays, one by one, as they happen, rather than actually watching the game. This one’s also pretty easy to use.
College Basketball Radio
If you prefer to listen to the big games rather than watching them or reading about them, this app is for you. While you can obtain scores, stats, and other goodies, the real draw is live radio coverage. You can check out different teams’ games, or simply check through different stations to listen in live. If you like to listen to podcasts while working, or you find yourself driving a lot, this is probably your best option for keeping up with March Madness.

This app differentiates itself from the pack with up-to-the-second statistics meant to help fantasy players and sports betting enthusiasts. The sheer amount of detail that goes into every calculation is staggering, and you can see it all in this app.

Sometimes, you don’t want to just observe the action, you want to be in the thick of it, making it happen. When it comes to March Madness, though, that requires either being a college student with a knack for basketball attending a school with a team, or being a coach. This game simulates the latter, and does a pretty good job. There’s a lot of intricate detail to dig into, and your every action will affect your team in some way.
Real Basketball
This game is for when you need a break from all the mental gymnastics involved in following March Madness. At the core of it all lies the love of basketball, and this game embodies it perfectly. The experience is realistic, but boiled-down enough to not be overwhelming. You can even play online with other players around the world.
