Huawei P30 Lite Silently Announced With 6GB Of RAM, 32MP Selfie Camera

Huawei had introduced its new P30 flagships yesterday, the P30 and P30 Pro, but it did not mention the P30 Lite. Well, that device has just been announced, kind of. The phone is now listed on the company’s official website, Canada branch, and it is already available for pre-order. In addition to the company’s official website, the phone also appeared on the Shopee Mall in the Philippines.

The official listing offers you an option of pre-ordering the phone from Freedom Mobile, Fido, Koodo, or Videotron, and it is priced at CA$450 outright. You can, of course, sign a contract and get on a payment plan, which will considerably reduce the price of the device, depending on which plan you opt for. Pre-orders will last until April 10 it seems, and you can get a free Huawei Band 3 Pro with the phone is you pre-order it in Canada. The device is priced at ₱16,990 ($332) in the Philippines.

As you can see, the Huawei P30 Lite resembles the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro quite a bit… well, more the P30 than the P30 Pro due to its flat display. The phone includes a dewdrop notch at the top of the display, and right above it lies an earpiece. A thin “chin” is placed right below the display of the Huawei P30 Lite, while its volume up, volume down, and power / lock buttons sit on the right.

You will notice that there are three cameras included on the back of the P30 Lite, and they are vertically-aligned. Those three cameras do protrude a bit, while an LED flash is placed right below them. A fingerprint scanner also sits on the back of the phone, along with Huawei’s branding, and the phone’s back side is curved.

The Huawei P30 Lite features a 6.15-inch fullHD+ (2310 x 1080) display with a 2.5D curved glass on top of it. The phone is fueled by the Kirin 710 64-bit octa-core processor, which is one of Huawei’s most powerful mid-range processors.

The phone includes 6GB of RAM and it comes with 128GB of storage (expandable up to 512GB via a microSD card). Android 9 Pie comes pre-installed on this phone, along with Huawei’s Emotion UI (EMUI) 9.0 skin. A 3,340mAh battery is also included in the package, and it supports fast charging, though we don’t know the specifics of it just yet.

The phone includes two SIM card slots (hybrid setup, 2x nano SIM), and it also supports dual 4G VoLTE. 24-megapixel (f/1.8 aperture), 2-megapixel, and 8-megapixel (120-degree ultra-wide-angle) cameras are placed on the back of the device, while a single 32-megapixel (f/2.0 aperture) unit can be found on the phone’s front side.

The phone includes support for Bluetooth 4.2 LE, while it measures 152.9 x 72.7 x 7.4mm, and weighs 159 grams. The Huawei P30 Lite comes in Midnight Black, Pearl White, and Peacock Blue color variants, and chances are it will go on sale on April 10, when pre-orders are over. The phone will probably start popping up in Europe in the near future as well, on the company’s official websites.
