Huawei had introduced the P30 and P30 Pro smartphones yesterday, and during the event, the company introduced the P30 with 6GB of RAM, and P30 Pro with 8GB of RAM. Well, it seems like the P30 Pro with 6GB of RAM also exists, as spotted by Roland Quandt.
The tipster spotted a 6GB RAM model of the P30 Pro with 128GB of storage in Finland, after which users started responding to his tweet, confirming that the 6GB RAM model is also available in Bulgaria, Austria, Germany, and the Czech Republic.
It is quite odd that Huawei did not mention the 6GB RAM variant of the phone during its announcement in Paris yesterday, as all of these variants are meant to be sold in Europe, so mentioning them all during the press conference seems logical.
A user from Bulgaria mentioned that the Huawei P30 with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage is priced at €699 in the country, while the P30 Pro with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage costs €899. Later on, users from Germany, Austria, and the Czech Republic said that the P30 Pro is available in those countries for that same amount of money, we’re talking about the same variant.
As a reminder, Huawei had introduced four variants of the Huawei P30 (Pro) during its press conference yesterday. The Huawei P30 was announced in one variant only, a 6GB RAM model with 128GB of storage. The P30 Pro, on the other hand, was announced with 8GB of RAM and 128GB, 256GB, 512GB of storage.
Considering that the 6GB RAM Huawei P30 Pro variant is available in some countries, it would not surprise us if an 8GB RAM Huawei P30 model appears at some point as well. It may not pop up in Europe, but it may surface in Asia.
The Huawei P30 and P30 Pro have been leaking for a long time before the company finally made them official. The two phones are made out of metal and glass, and even though they are quite similar in terms of the design, they’re not identical. Even though both of them include three cameras on the back (not counting P30 Pro’s ToF sensor), those cameras setups are considerably different.
The two phones are also different in terms of size, as the P30 Pro is larger of the two, while it also sports a curved display, which is something that the P30 does not have. Both phones do include fullHD+ OLED panels, though, and both of them are fueled by the Kirin 980 64-bit octa-core processor. Android 9 Pie comes pre-installed on both devices, along with Huawei’s Emotion UI (EMUI) skin.
The Huawei P30 features a 6.1-inch panel, while it features a 3.5mm headphone jack, and comes with IP53 certification for water and dust resistance. The Huawei P30 Pro, on the other hand, includes a 6.47-inch display, does not include a headphone jack, but it comes with IP68 certification for water and dust resistance, while an IR blaster is also a part of this package. It is quite interesting how much Huawei opted to differentiate these two phones.
