Both the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro surfaced in seemingly official renders recently, and now the P30 Pro appeared in real-life images. These images actually come from two sources, the device was first spotted in the hands of Huawei’s CEO, Richard Yu, while all the other images appeared in Vietnam, and those images are actually quite sketchy because of one specific detail which we’ll talk about in a bit.
If you take a look at the first image in the gallery, you will be able to see the Huawei P30 Pro in Richard Yu’s right hand. The phone seems to have a regular case on it, but its camera setup on the back is clearly visible. This is a blue-colored P30 Pro, it seems, while the case on it is either dark gray or black.
How, do we know this is the P30 Pro, and not the regular P30 variant? Well, the position of the phone’s sensors and LED flash. On the regular P30 unit, an LED flash is placed below the triple camera setup, while on the P30 Pro, it sits next to those three cameras, on the right.
The other three images that are included in the gallery give you an even better look at the phone, even though there’s a huge sticker on the back of the device, and even though the bottom camera on the back looks quite odd. That camera is supposed to show off a circular sensor, like the other two, but instead, this seems to be rectangular. Everything else seems to be in place, but that camera setup is… well, odd-looking, so keep that in mind.
The Huawei P30 Pro will be made out of metal and glass, while its back side will be curved, so that it’s easier to hold. As you can see, the P30 Pro will include three, vertically-aligned cameras on the back, and those three cameras will protrude a bit.
Other Huawei P30 & P30 Pro Info
The Huawei P30 and P30 Pro will both include a tiny, teardrop display notch on the front, and the main difference between the two phones, when it comes to the design, will be visible on the front. The Huawei P30 will sport a flat display, while the P30 Pro will ship with a curved panel.
Both devices are expected to include OLED displays, though the P30 Pro’s panel will be considerably larger than the P30’s. Both devices got certified in China yesterday, and those listings confirmed that the P30 Pro will ship with 40W charging, while the P30 will include 22.5W fast wired charging. Both devices will include wireless charging, probably 15W wireless charging.
The Kirin 980 64-bit octa-core processor will fuel both of these devices, the same chip that is included in the Huawei Mate 20 series. It remains to be seen if Huawei plans to introduce a 5G variant of the P30 / P30 Pro, or will the company stick to 4G variants only. The same chip will be included if a 5G variant arrives, but the Balong 5000 modem will accompany it.
Huawei will include at least 6GB of RAM into these two phones, though variants with more RAM are expected as well. Android 9 Pie will come pre-installed on the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro, while Huawei’s custom Android overlay will be a part of the package as well.
