LG has finally announced when pre-orders of the new G8 ThinQ will begin. Pre-order dates do differ by carrier and retailer, with Sprint kicking things off tomorrow, March 29. The LG G8 ThinQ will be available in stores on April 11.
The LG G8 ThinQ was announced at Mobile World Congress last month in Barcelona, as the company’s next flagship device. It has a lot of the same features that you’ve come to expect from LG, but it also has a few new tricks up its sleeve. That includes the new Time of Flight or ToF sensor that is being used for some cool tricks. Like Hand ID, where you can unlock your phone with your palm. Or being able to swipe away calls without touching your hand.
Specs of the LG G8 ThinQ are about what you’d expect. With a 6.1-inch Quad HD+ OLED display, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. There is still a micro SD card slot available for expanding storage, should you need more space. This is all powered by a 3500mAh capacity battery inside.
As mentioned already, Sprint will be opening pre-orders for the LG G8 ThinQ tomorrow – March 29 – and it will launch a day later on April 12. Sprint is offering up the G8 ThinQ for just $15 per month on its Flex lease which is a huge discount on the smartphone, during the pre-order phase. Sprint is also offering up a $150 prepaid MasterCard when you purchase $75 or more in accessories for the LG G8 ThinQ.
T-Mobile is starting pre-orders on April 11, and has a pretty sweet deal for those looking to trade in their phone. You can get a LG G8 ThinQ for just $25.84 per month for 24 months. That is taking $200 off of your total, by trading in your current phone. That brings the full price to $619, and the original price is $819. Over 24 monthly payments, that would be $34.12.
Verizon will begin pre-orders for the LG G8 ThinQ on April 1 for $35 per month for 24 months, with it launching on April 11. Verizon is also offering up some sweet deals to get you a new LG G8 ThinQ. If you trade-in your current phone and add a new line, you can get $450 off of the regular price. Or if you switch over to Verizon, you can get a $200 prepaid Mastercard. Finally, if you purchase the LG G8 ThinQ on Verizon’s device payment plan and activate a line, you can get $350 off. You can actually combine all three and get $1000 off. Of course, that would only be about $800 off of the LG G8 ThinQ in monthly bill credits, with the $200 prepaid Mastercard being sent out after your purchase.
AT&T will also be carrying the LG G8 ThinQ, though it has not announced pricing or any pre-order promotions for it just yet. AT&T does usually tend to be the most expensive for smartphones, so expect the LG G8 ThinQ to be a bit more expensive than at the other carriers.
The LG G8 ThinQ will also be at other retailers like Best Buy, Amazon and many more, starting Monday, April 1.
