Motorola’s Moto G7 Power is now up for pre-order from Motorola’s website. This is the second of the three Moto G7 smartphones that will be available in the US.
The Moto G7 Power is a slightly lower-end smartphone from Motorola, compared to the main Moto G7. It has a 6.2-inch 720p display at a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 chipset, with 4GB of RAM and a whopping 5000mAh capacity battery. Motorola says that the battery will last you up to three full days. Considering what is inside the Moto G7 Power (a very power efficient Snapdragon 632, along with that HD display), that is a very real possibility.
Motorola has a single 12-megapixel camera on the back, with a front-facing 8-megapixel sensor. These are not going to be the most impressive cameras on a smartphone in 2019, and nor should they be, for this price. But the important thing is, they will do their job and do it well. The Moto G7 Power will still be able to take pretty good photos for you to post on Instagram and Facebook, just don’t expect it to stack up to something like the Samsung Galaxy S10 or the upcoming Huawei P30.
This smartphone is not for everyone. The Moto G7 Power is meant for those that want a smartphone that is going to last all day, if not a couple of days, so that they don’t need to worry about charging it. With the Moto G7 Power, you won’t need to worry about it not being able to accomplish tasks either, as it can do those too. Whether that’s making phone calls, browsing the internet, scrolling through Twitter or keeping up with friends and family on Facebook, the Moto G7 Power will be able to do it all.
Motorola is embracing the notch on the Moto G7 Power, this year it decided to give each Moto G7 smartphone a different sized notch. This one does have a pretty wide notch, similar to the iPhone. But don’t expect anything special from it. It does do facial recognition, but now 3D face unlock, so you’re still using that front facing camera. What it boils down to, is that it still won’t be as secure. So don’t trust it with all of your information. There is still a fingerprint sensor though, on the back side. Many will appreciate that seeing as it is not an under-display sensor, which seems to be pretty terrible so far. It’s hidden behind the logo on the back of the phone. So it’s out of the way, but there when you need it.
You can pre-order the Moto G7 Power from Motorola.com using the link down below. It is going to cost you $249, but if you pre-order it, Motorola will give you a $20 eGift Card for a future purchase. Which is going to be good for something like getting a case and/or a screen protector for your Moto G7 Power. It officially goes on sale next Friday, March 22, and will hit more retailers including Best Buy and B&H Photo.
