OPPO has just introduced a brand new smartphone for the global market, during the press conference in India, the OPPO F11 Pro. That device actually leaked a couple of times thus far, so we knew what to expect in terms of the design, and OPPO just revealed the rest of the picture.
No display notch or hole in sight
The OPPO F11 Pro is a smartphone which comes with a motorized selfie pop-up camera. That camera is centered on top of the device, and in line with it lie three additional cameras on the back of the device, two rear-facing cameras, above which you will notice an LED flash. A regular, capacitive fingerprint scanner is placed below those two cameras, and the phone itself is made out of metal and glass. The device was introduced in two color variants, Aurora Green and Thunder Black, and both seem to be gradient.
The back side of the device is curved, while the phone does include a thin “chin” below the display. The OPPO F11 Pro’s display sports rounded corners, while its power / lock button sits on the right. The volume up and down buttons are included on the left side of this phone, while you will find a micro USB port on the bottom of the device for whatever reason. It’s kind of odd that OPPO opted for a micro USB port instead of a Type-C one, but there you have it. Next to that charging port lies the phone’s loudspeaker.
It’s not high-end, but it’s more than powerful enough
The device features a 6.53-inch fullHD+ (2340 x 1080, 19.5:9 aspect ratio) LCD display, and it does not sport a notch or a display hole. OPPO says that the phone’s screen to body aspect ratio is 90.9-percent, which is quite high.
The device is fueled by the Helio P70 64-bit octa-core processor by MediaTek, while it includes 4GB / 6GB of RAM and 64GB / 128GB of storage. A 4,000mAh battery is also included in this package, and it is not removable. The phone supports OPPO’s proprietary VOOC 3.0 fast charging, which can charge up its 4,000mAh battery from 0 to 100-percent in only 80 minutes.
Android 9 Pie comes pre-installed on the device, along with OPPO’s ColorOS 6 Android overlay. On the back of the device, you will find 48-megapixel (f/1.79 aperture, 6P lens) and 5-megapixel cameras (f/2.4 aperture), while a single 16-megapixel camera (f/2.0 aperture) is located on the phone’s front side.
During the event, OPPO talked a lot about shooting in low light with the F11 Pro, as the phone’s camera are allegedly quite capable in such conditions. The “Ultra Night Mode” comes as an option inside the camera software, and it works similar to Huawei’s Night Mode. The company also said that the main 48-megapixel camera uses pixel binning in order to provide 12-megapixel shots.
Coming to India first
The phone will go on sale in India first, while southeast Asia, the Middle East, North Africa, and a number of other regions will get it “soon”. We still do not know how much will the phone cost, though, as the company did not share any info regarding that just yet, but we will update this article when it does.
UPDATE: The phone is priced at Rs. 24,999 ($354) in India.
