With Quick Charge 3.0 and USB-C PD included, the xWingMan Dual sports all of the latest fast charging tech.
Xcentz has a brand new battery pack, in the xWingMan Dual Battery Pack, that has a 10,000mAh capacity. It’s a pretty small and lightweight battery pack, but it does boast some pretty useful features like Quick Charge 3.0 and USB-C PD up to 18W. Meaning that it’s going to be able to charge up your smartphone pretty quickly, no matter which standard it uses.
The hardware on the xWingMan Dual it pretty decent. It has a soft-touch material on the outside, which makes it easy to hold onto, but it also doesn’t add a lot of weight to the battery pack. On one end, you’ll find a USB-A port that does Quick Charge 3.0, while the other end is a USB-C port that supports PD and does input as well. It’s good to see a battery pack that can do both input and output through USB-C at this price point.
On the top of the battery pack, there is a button, that will allow you to switch the USB-C port from input to output or vice versa. It will also show you how much juice is left, using the four LED lights that are next to it.
When it comes to charging, the xWingMan Dual does about what you would expect from a battery pack. It is able to charge your smartphone pretty quickly. Of course, that is only if your smartphone supports fast charge. We used this with the Pixel 3 XL, which does support Quick Charge 3.0. It was able to recharge the Pixel 3 XL in about 90 minutes. Which is about how long it should take.
Quick Charge 3.0 and USB-C PD 18W is about the same speed, so when using the USB-C port for charging the Pixel 3 XL, we got almost the same results. It was able to fully charge it in about 100 minutes. That’s how long it should have taken anyways, for USB-C PD 18W. Now this is not the full speed of USB-C PD, so you won’t be able to use it on devices like a MacBook Pro or a Nintendo Switch which does need a much faster Power Delivery – at least 30W. It will technically charge them, but if you are using them while it’s being charged, you may notice the battery percentage dropping still.
When it comes to battery cycles, the Xcentz xWingMan Dual should be able to recharge your smartphone about two to three times. This is going to depend on the size of the battery in your smartphone. With the Pixel 3 XL, it was able to completely recharge it twice, and still had a bit of juice left for a third recharge. But not enough for a full recharge.
Xcentz also includes a USB-A to USB-C cable in the box with the xWingMan Dual, allowing you to use this one cable for charging the battery pack as well as charging your smartphone. So you can essentially pull double duty, which is really nice to see. Finally, the xWingMan Dual is available in five colors: black, blue, ink, sandstone black and sandstone grey.
The Xcentz xWingMan Dual is a really good option for those that are looking for something that is going to be small and lightweight but they can still take with them to make sure their phone always has some juice. It is definitely pocketable, making it much more convenient than some of the other higher capacity battery packs out there.
