UPDATE: That listing on Geekbench seems to be fake, so the Poco F1 Lite may not launch at all.

The Xiaomi Poco F1 or Pocophone F1 was announced back in August last year, and while we’re waiting for more info regarding its successor, the Xiaomi Poco F1 Lite appeared. The phone got benchmarked, actually, it surfaced on Geekbench, and thanks to that listing, we do have some spec info when it comes to that device.

According to this listing, which was uploaded yesterday, the Poco F1 Lite will be a mid-range smartphone, which was to be expected considering its “Lite” branding. The phone will be fueled by the Snapdragon 660 64-bit octa-core processor by Qualcomm, and it will include 4GB of RAM, as per the source.

Geekbench also says that Android 9 Pie will come pre-installed on the device, while the phone’s single-core and multi-core benchmark results were also revealed. The Poco F1 Lite managed to hit 1,341 points in the single-core, and 4,830 points in the multi-core benchmark on Geekbench. These results are not exactly surprising, but they may change in the final build.

The Xiaomi Poco F1 managed to become quite successful, as it had plenty to offer for the price tag, it was essentially a flagship-grande phone which was priced well below the OnePlus 6 when it launched, so quite a few people took advantage of that and got the phone.

The Poco F1 managed to get some really good reviews along the way, and the Poco F2 is expected to launch in August this year, unless Xiaomi opts to move its release date for one reason or the other.

As for the Poco F1 Lite, well, we still do not know when will this phone launch, or will it launch at all. It is possible that Xiaomi is testing it, which explains why is it on Geekbench, but the company still did not confirm that the phone will become a reality, even though it probably will.

The Poco F1 Lite will be considerably more affordable than its big brother, and chances are it will be even more affordable than some existing Snapdragon 660-powered devices. The phone’s design did not leak just yet, but it’s quite possible that it will look similar, or even identical to the Poco F1. The Poco F1 did sport a rather wide notch at the top of its display, while it shipped with a polycarbonate back cover. The Poco F1 Lite may be a bit smaller than the Poco F1, but we’re only guessing at this point, we’ll have to wait and see what is Xiaomi planning.

If Xiaomi is planning to introduce this phone in the near future, chances are we will see some leaked images of the phone soon, or stumble upon more info regarding its specifications. Until then, we can only guess what to expect out of the device, as we already did.

As far as the Poco F2 is concerned, well, not much info leaked, but the phone is expected to include the Snapdragon 855 64-bit octa-core processor, while its display notch will probably be considerably smaller. It remains to be seen if Xiaomi will opt for a tiny notch, or perhaps a display hole, but you can expect a thin “chin” below the display in any case. It remains to be if the Poco F2 will stick to plastic, or will Xiaomi opt to change things up with the second-gen phone.
