Lenovo has announced its new flagship, the Lenovo Z6 Pro. The company has been teasing this phone for a couple of weeks now, and it’s not finally here, with all the bells and whistles you’d expect out of a modern smartphone.
It’s an eye-catcher, that’s for sure
The phone is made out of metal and glass, as you can see, and its bezels are pretty much non-existent. Lenovo used a 17-layer 3D coating on the gradient back of this phone. The phone’s “chin” is barely there, as it is razor-thin, at least based on the provided renders, while a tiny dewdrop notch is also a part of the package. That notch houses the phone’s front-facing camera, and an earpiece is placed above it.
All the physical keys sit on the right-hand side of this phone, while the device’s back side is curved, as on pretty much every flagship out there. This handset includes four cameras on the back, and we’ll talk about them in a minute. Those four cameras are vertically aligned, though only three of them protrude on the back. An LED flash is also included here, in case you were wondering.
It is also worth noting that this phone does include a 3.5mm headphone jack, and that port is placed at the bottom of the phone, along with a Type-C USB port, and the phone’s loudspeaker. Speaking of audio, the device does include Dolby Atmos support.
A beast in the spec department
The Lenovo Z6 Pro is fueled by the Snapdragon 855 64-bit octa-core processor, Qualcomm’s most powerful mobile chip. The phone also includes liquid cooling with 5mm reinforced copper tube and a larger heat dissipation area.
In addition to the Snapdragon 855, Lenovo includes 6GB, 8GB, and 12GB of RAM in this phone, depending on what variant you opt to get. The 6GB and 8GB RAM models are available with 128GB and 256GB of storage, while the 12GB option comes with 512GB of storage. All variants support microSD expansion up to 512GB.
The phone features a 6.39-inch fullHD+ (2340 x 1080) AMOLED display, with HDR10 and DCI-P3 support. Android 9 Pie comes pre-installed on the phone, along with ZUI 11 Android overlay, while a 4,000mAh battery is included in the package as well. That battery supports 27W fast wired charging, and Lenovo claims that you can get two hours of gaming out of this phone with only 15 minutes of charging.
48-megapixel (f/1.8 aperture, PDAF), 16-megapixel (125-degree wide-angle lens, f/2.2 aperture), 8-megapixel (telephoto camera, f/2.4 aperture), and 2-megapixel (“Super Video” camera, f/1.8 aperture, 2.9um pixel size, OIS) are included on the back of this phone, along with a ToF (Time of Flight) sensor)
A 32-megapixel camera (f/2.0 aperture) sits on the phone’s front side, while this device comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner. To be more precise, it includes a sixth-generation in-display fingerprint scanner.
Two SIM card slots are also a part of the Lenovo Z6 Pro, and we’re looking at a hybrid setup here with two nano SIM card slots, one of which can be used for storage expansion purposes. The phone measures 157.5 x 74.6 x 8.65mm, and weighs 185 grams.
It’s more affordable than most of the competition
The Lenovo Z6 Pro has been announced in Black and Blue color variants. The phone’s 6GB RAM model with 128GB of storage is priced at 2,899 Yuan ($430) in China. The 8GB RAM model with 128GB of storage costs 2,999 Yuan ($446), while a variant with the same amount of RAM and 256GB of storage is priced at 3,799 Yuan ($565).
The most powerful Lenovo Z6 Pro model with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage costs 4,999 Yuan ($744). The phone will go on sale in China from April 29, while Lenovo still did not release any info regarding its global availability.
