OPPO has just confirmed the design of its Reno smartphone, along with its upcoming color variants, and even some specifications. This information was confirmed by official listings (spotted by a Twitter user), as the device appeared on the company’s official webshop in China, these are essentially reservations for the device. Do keep in mind, however, that this seems to be a mid-range variant of the device, not the flagship model.
Having said that, the two will be quite similar in terms of the design, the most notable difference will be visible on the back, in the camera department, at least if the OPPO Reno flagship leaks are accurate. The OPPO Reno mid-ranger that got listed on OPPO’s official website features two cameras on the back, while the flagship model will include those two sensors, in addition to a 10x periscope camera system that OPPO demoed at MWC 2019 earlier this year.
Let us focus on the device at hand, though, the mid-range variant of the device. As you can see, the phone will be made out of metal and glass, while its bezels will be almost non-existent. The device’s “chin” will be a hair thicker than the rest of its bezels. The power / lock button will be placed on the right-hand side of this phone, while the volume up and down buttons will sit on the left.
The phone’s display will sport rounded corners, while its back side will be curved. The phone’s rear cameras will be vertically-aligned, and so will the company’s branding that can be found on the back of the device. The device appeared in four color variants on the website, and you can check out all four color variants in the gallery down below. The site is in Chinese, so the official naming of this color may be a bit off, keep that in mind. These four color variants are: Nebula Purple, Fog Sea Green, Mist Powder, and Night Black.
The Nebula Purple color basically combines light and dark purple color, it’s a gradient model, the only gradient model. The Fog Sea Green color is kind of green, but not really, while the Mist Powder variant looks to be a peach-like color. The Night Black variant will be dark gray if these renders are to be believed.
The mid-range OPPO Reno handset appeared in several (spec) variant on OPPO’s website, two 6GB RAM variants, and one 8GB RAM model. The 6GB RAM variants come with 128GB and 256GB of storage, while the 8GB RAM model includes 256GB of storage. All of those devices include an NFC chip, and support for OPPO’s extremely fast VOOC 3.0 fast charging. The OPPO Reno mid-ranger also includes a 48-megapixel main sensor on the back, which was to be expected. This device will also include a triangle-shaped pop-up camera, as leaks have suggested.
The company also shared some camera samples on the website, though these samples have been resized, so they’re not exactly huge when you look at them. These pictures look really great, though, maybe even too good, but we’ll let you be the judge of that, you can check them out via the source link. As far as price tags for these devices are concerned, we still do not have any info regarding that. A 9,999 Yuan ($1,488) price tag is listed for all three variants, which is obviously just a placeholder price, and it’s not accurate by any means. The OPPO Reno series is expected to arrive on April 10.
