Not A (View)Bug: New App Helps Aspiring Photographers Amaze

If you’re into photography, and you love to share your work with others, there are a ton of platforms available for you out there. People love to share their pictures, but if you’d like to take things to a new level, and get some help along the way, ViewBug’s community may be just right for you.

ViewBug is a community for photographers and you can access it via an Android app, or via your computer, as a desktop access is also available. In any case, we’ll focus on the app here, for the most part, at least. This app will not only allow you to check out tons of pictures taken by some really talented people, but you will also be able to submit your work, and even participate in various contests.

This community has over 2 million registered members at the moment, and it’s quite popular on both iOS and Android. ViewBug can help you not only get discovered as a photographer, but also improve your photo-taking skills. Unlike 500px and Behance, which are essentially similar services, ViewBug offers a rather interesting suite of tools which can help you not only learn more about photography, but work better overall, and even make money on the way.

This application is essentially free to download and use, but if you’d like to take full advantage of what it has to offer, you’ll need to register. There are two subscription options that ViewBug offers, “Premium” and “Pro” plans, which cost $4.99 per month and $8.99 per month, respectively. These subscriptions may not be for everyone, but as previously mentioned, if you’re good enough, you can earn money using ViewBug, so… it’s your call. It is worth noting that you can get a one-week trial for free, just so you experience what ViewBug offers.

Daily competitions and challenges are available via ViewBug, so you’ll never be out of things to do in this community. As far as the app itself is concerned, well it’s clean. White is the predominant color in this application, and all the menus are placed on the bottom of the display, so that they’re easily accessible.

There are five main menus that you should get familiar with here, Home, Contests, Upload, Notifications, and Me. All of them are kind of self-explanatory, and those of you who are confused by the “Me” menu, that’s essentially your profile where you will find your images, and all your information.

If you opt to subscribe to ViewBug, you will get access to all contests that the app has to offer, we’re looking at over 100 contests every year. On top of that, the app will provide you with new tools and features, like presets and additional editing tools. You will also gain access to various, detailed statistics, and will get unlimited uploads on top of everything else.

All in all, if you’re serious about your photography, and would like not only to improve your skills, but maybe become a professional photographer at some point in your life, ViewBug is a solid way to get started. In our brief time with this application, we’ve seen some really stunning photos, and have realized why the app is so high-rated in the Play Store. This app is currently holding a 4.9-star rating, after over 6,000 reviews. If you’d like to check it out, you can download it via the link down below.
