A new laptop from CHUWI is coming, and this time around, we’re looking at a really small laptop called the CHUWI MiniBook. The company has just announced that it is offering a 25-percent Early Bird discount to consumers, as the device is currently listed on Indiegogo.
This seems to be a pre-listing for the crowd-funding campaign itself, as you still cannot pledge anything. There is a countdown clock included on the website, though, and that presumably means that the device will be available for crowd-funding when the time is up.
Those of you who would like to grab a 25-percent Early Bird discount that the company is offering, need to hit the link below the article, and type in your email address in the provided field on Indiegogo, followed by a click on the “Sign Up” button.
CHUWI did release a number of renders showing the CHUWI MiniBook, while the company also shared some specifications of the device. As you can see, this device will be made out of metal, and it will be quite compact.
The device’s display can be rotated all the way, it offers viewing angles up to 360 degrees, and the company even mentions “tablet mode”. We’re not sure if the device’s display is touch sensitive, though, as nothing of the sort is mentioned on Indiegogo.
The CHUWI MiniBook does include a full physical keyboard, with a ton of shortcuts. Keys do seem to be large enough, despite the fact this device is quite small. Well, the largest keys are the ones that have letters on them, for easier typing, most other keys are a bit smaller.
This device features an 8-inch IPS display, though its resolution has not been shared by the company just yet. The device is fueled by the Intel Core M3-8Y100 or Gemini Lake N4100 SoCs, which suggests that we’ll get at least two variants of the device.
The CHUWI MiniBook will include 8GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 128GB of eMMC internal storage. The device will include a Type-C port, while an M.2 SSD expansion will also be on offer, says CHUWI. This device will include a microSD card reader as well, in case you were wondering.
The company also mentioned that a 26.6Wh battery will be packed into this device, and that it will be able to get you going for at least 8 hours of use. On top of that, CHUWI confirmed that the device will support PD 2.0 fast charging.
Based on the provided images, we were also able to notice that a regular USB port will be included as well, along with a 3.5mm headphone jack, and what seem to be side-firing speakers.
CHUWI is expected to share more info regarding this product in the coming weeks, and until then, feel free to take a closer look at the device via the gallery down below. You will be able to find a number of renders of the CHUWI MiniBook, along with some real-life images that the company shared with us.
