Ulefone has just confirmed that its upcoming smartphone, the Armor 7, will ship with a 48-megapixel main camera (Sony’s IMX586 sensor, to be exact) on the back. That’s not all, though, as that camera will be joined by two additional sensors, so you’ll be getting a total of three rear-facing cameras on this smartphone.
On top of that, the company has confirmed that the device will be fueled by the Helio P90 64-bit octa-core processor by MediaTek, one of the company’s newer chips. The Armor 7 will be the company’s newest smartphone in its rugged “Armor” series of devices, and even though Ulefone did not confirm when will it launch, that will probably happen soon.
If you take a look at the provided image, you will be able to see a sketch of the phone, which essentially confirms that the device will include a tiny teardrop notch at the top of the display. The phone will be reinforced all around for drops, as this is a rugged phone after all.
Based on this sketch, the Ulefone Armor 7 may include a customizable key on the left, unless the company opts to include a side-facing fingerprint scanner or something of the sort. Whatever the case may be, there are three protrusions on the right, and one on the left. Those on the right are there presumably for the power / lock, volume up, and volume down buttons, while the one on the left is a mystery.
The phone’s display will sport rounded corners, while the phone’s rear-facing cameras will be vertically aligned, and centered as well. The phone’s LED flash will be located right next to those cameras, along with some additional sensors, based on this sketch.
The company claims that this will be the very first rugged smartphone to ship with the Helio P90 processor, and it is also worth saying that the phone’s main camera has been used by a number of flagship devices thus far. The OnePlus 7 series, HONOR VIew20, and HONOR 20 series have all utilized this sensor, and in combination with the right software, it is a really powerful camera sensor.
If you’re extremely eager to get a rugged smartphone, and are unwilling to wait for the Armor 7, the Armor 6E is currently discounted over at GearBest. The phone is now priced at only $199.99, which is $100 more affordable than its usual price tag. The phone will revert to its $299.99 price tag after June 4, so you have about a week to grab the device for only $199.99. A purchase link is included down below, if you’re interested.
