Each month, we rank the very best Android smartphones that are currently available. These are all smartphones that are available somewhere. Some might not be available in the US, but are available in Europe or Asia. We don’t list any phones that are not available anywhere, as you can’t buy them and that doesn’t make them the best smartphone you can buy.

Since we spend weeks playing with every smartphone that comes out, we are the best people to tell you which smartphones are the very best to buy. So here we are. Here are the very best smartphones that you can buy right now, starting with the tenth best, and going up to number one.

10. Huawei P30 Pro

For a lot of people, the Huawei P30 Pro is going to be the absolute best smartphone you can buy. It checks all of the boxes. That includes a monsterous battery that can last two days on a charge, some insanely good cameras and a beautiful looking display. But it has fallen down to number ten on our list for one big reason. The Trump Ban.

We here at AndroidHeadlines absolutely love the Huawei P30 Pro, but right now it is a very hard phone to recommend, since Huawei is on the Entity List. Meaning we are unsure how much longer it’ll be getting updates, or even how much longer it’ll actually be an Android smartphone. So while we would love to recommend it for every single person, we simply can’t.

The P30 Pro is not available in the US, officially, but you can pick it up from Amazon for about $909 and it does not come with a warranty.

9. Razer Phone 2

The Razer Phone 2 is one of the best values you can get, in smartphones this year. It’s priced at just $499, about half the price of most other smartphones on this list, and it still packs some of the best specs on this list.

Sure it’s packing what is (now) an older processor in the Snapdragon 845, but that doesn’t make it a bad processor. It can still hold its own. Especially since Razer is using a stock version of Android and has it paired with 8GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Making this a really good option for those that want the best specs and a stock Android device.

Of course, we can’t forget that super smooth 120Hz LCD display that the Razer Phone 2 sports. It looks very smooth in every day tasks and it also looks great when playing games. Though, the number of games that supports it, isn’t that high. Razer Phone 2 also has a large 4,000mAh capacity battery to get you through the day and wireless charging as well.

8. Xiaomi Mi 9

The Xiaomi Mi 9 is another smartphone that’s not available in the US, but it is still a really good option for a lot of people. This is another “value” smartphone, with 2019 specs.

With the Mi 9, we’re looking at a Snapdragon 855 with up to 8GB of RAM. It also has a triple-camera setup on the back, which produces some really good looking pictures. Xiaomi is using the very popular Sony sensor that’s 48-megapixels and takes some really good looking shots.

There is a notch on the Mi 9, but it’s a pretty small one. It’s a water-droplet notch and one that you will likely not even notice after using the phone for a few days. Remember that if you are looking to bring this to the US, it may not work on US 4G LTE networks, so you’ll want to check out the bands before purchasing.

7. HONOR 20 Pro

The HONOR 20 Pro is another one that is unfortunately being targeted by Trump’s Huawei ban. The HONOR 20 Pro would normally be in the top three spots on this list, because it’s just that great. But since we are unsure of Huawei’s future, it is a bit lower on the list.

This smartphone from HONOR has everything you’d expect from a 2019 smartphone. A big, beautiful display, a pretty large capacity battery, and of course a quad camera setup, for taking some really incredible photos. HONOR has the usual ultrawide, wide and telephoto lenses on the 20 Pro here. But it also includes a dedicated macro lens, which takes some really great close-up shots.

HONOR did everything right with the 20 Pro, but unfortunately, due to the Trump Ban, we are unsure if the HONOR 20 Pro will be sold much longer, and even if it will continue to be an Android smartphone. We do, however, know that it will be getting Android Q.

6. LG V40 ThinQ

The V40 ThinQ was released last fall, and it’s still a pretty good smartphone from LG. It has a big, beautiful OLED display, though there is a notch at the top, since it’s an OLED you can really hide that notch. It also has a decent battery, but it’s not the biggest capacity. It will get you through the day.

But what really sets the LG V40 ThinQ apart is the cameras and its video quality. LG has three cameras on the V40 ThinQ. The standard ultrawide, wide and telephoto lenses that do a great job at capturing everything, no matter how close or far you are from the subject. But the V40 ThinQ also does really well with video. LG is still the only OEM that offers a manual model for video. Allowing you to adjust the aperture, ISO and much more, while on the go.

5. Google Pixel 3 Series

Yes, the Google Pixel 3 has had a pretty tough lifespan, since it came out last October. But it is still one of the best smartphones on the market. It is also going to be one of the only phones on this list to get Android Q this year, which is going to matter to a lot of people.

The Pixel 3 comes in two sizes, there’s a smaller 5.5-inch model and then a larger 6.3-inch model with the hideous notch that people have been making fun of since October. The larger Pixel 3 XL does have a QHD+ OLED display, so if you’re wanting the better display, that’s the way to go.

Despite the issues that the Pixel 3 has, the camera is still among the best out there. The Pixel Visual Core helps to make this a pretty impressive camera, with just a single lens. And with Night Sight now available on the Pixel 3, you’re getting some great images at night too.

4. Samsung Galaxy Note9

Yes, the Galaxy Note10 is due to come out in August, and that makes the Galaxy Note9 cheaper now. That also makes this an even better purchase now. The Galaxy Note9 was $999 when it first came out, now you can get an unlocked model for just $659. That’s a really good price for this smartphone.

The Galaxy Note9 has everything. It has a big 6.4-inch QHD+ OLED display, it has the Snapdragon 845 chipset, 6GB of RAM with 128GB of storage as well as a large 4000mAh capacity battery inside. It does also have a wide-angle camera and a telephoto sensor on the back. But that’s not the most important part of this phone.

That would be the S Pen. It’s the same S Pen we all know and love, but now it has Bluetooth. Allowing you to use it as a remote for things like snapping photos, switching slides in PowerPoint or even navigating through your gallery. The possibilities are endless.

3. LG G8 ThinQ

The LG G8 ThinQ is actually a bigger upgrade over the G7 ThinQ than you might think. It’s the first time LG has used an OLED display on a G series smartphone. It also ditched the earpiece, and has an in-display speaker, as well as a larger battery now – thanks to LG making the back flush with the cameras.

So what’s the LG G8 ThinQ missing? A camera. Unlike the LG V40 ThinQ that is listed above, the G8 ThinQ does not have three cameras, and is missing that telephoto lens. So you only get the wide-angle and standard cameras on this phone. Which is fine for most people, but having the option for a telephoto lens would be a really nice addition.

2. Samsung Galaxy S10 Series

Samsung has something for everyone with the new Galaxy S10 series. There’s the Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+, and at the time of writing this, they are all $100 off of their regular price.

The Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ are both the best flagships on the market right now for most people. They check the boxes like the cameras, battery life, display, software and more. The Galaxy S10+ does have an extra camera on the front and a larger battery, as expected.

Now the Galaxy S10e, is the best flagship for those that don’t want to spend a grand. It’s about $250 less than the Galaxy S10+ normally, and it does ditch that ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, in favor of a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. And it does definitely perform a whole lot better. It does also ditch that curved display, and seeing as most people don’t like that curved display, that makes this a great option.

1. OnePlus 7 Pro

The OnePlus 7 Pro is hands down the best smartphone on the market today.

It’s cheaper than most other smartphones on this list. It has a brilliant display, plenty of RAM and storage, as well as the latest processor, and of course it has three cameras on the backside. Now those cameras are not perfect, but OnePlus has been improving them with each update to the phone. So they are getting much better.

Of course, we cannot forget about that amazing 90Hz OLED display that the OnePlus 7 Pro is rocking. It’s absolutely gorgeous, and very smooth. In fact, for a lot of people, that’s the biggest selling point of the phone.
