iOttie has announced today that it’s newest car mount, the Easy One Touch Connect, is now available. This is part of the “Prime Day Product Launches” at Amazon, which means that you do need to be a Prime member to purchase it today. This car mount was actually announced at CES back in January, so it’s been a long time coming, but it is good to see it finally arriving.
The Easy One Touch Connect is a car mount with adjustable arms, and Alexa built-in. The adjustable arms is likely a better way to go for iOttie, seeing as some people are worried about magnets damaging their phone. And it will also work for just about any phone that’s out there, which is really cool.
When it comes to Alexa, you’ll be able to do just about anything you could already do with an Echo Dot in your home. That means making phone calls, playing music, controlling your smart home, and even asking for the weather. You can also ask Alexa for directions using the Easy One Touch Connect, which makes everything completely hands free.
With streaming audio, you’ll be able to use any service that is already compatible with Alexa. That includes Amazon Music Unlimited, SiriusXM and many more. Just simply ask Alexa to “play Hip Hop music on Pandora” to get started.
iOttie wanted to make sure that the customer could see when Alexa is listening to them, and added a LED indicator to the car mount. This will light up when Alexa is listening. There is also a button to turn off the microphone, on the back of the mount. So that it won’t be “always listening”.
This car mount is similar to all of the other car mounts that iOttie has released in recent years. It will attach to your dashboard, and you can adjust the arm to go up or down, to get it into the perfect position for you, when you’re driving. It can also extend a bit more, to get it closer to you. Making it easier to see and less of a distraction. Though some might think that having Alexa in the car is going to be a bit more of a distraction, than just using your phone.
iOttie’s Easy One Touch Connect car mount is not cheap, and nor did we expect it to be, with Amazon Alexa inside. But it will cost $69.95, which is pretty substantial for a car mount that doesn’t have wireless charging. If you are a big Alexa user, however, then this is going to be a pretty good purchase for you, and almost a must-buy.
