Monument Valley 3 Is Coming & Development Has Already Begun

Famed mobile game developers Ustwo Games has confirmed that it’s working on a follow-up to the popular Monument Valley 2, the sequel to the breakout hit original in the series.

If you were a fan of the first two games, then you’ll be happy to know that Monument Valley 3 is indeed planned and it’s on the way. Ustwo Games has even started development on the upcoming puzzle title and has shared an image of some of the concept art for the levels that may show up in the new game.

Confirming the news for fans on its official Twitter page, Ustwo not only mentions Monument Valley 3 but makes a point to note that it’s looking for someone to take charge on this new adventure that will plunge players into a new world of gorgeous, colorful puzzles.

If you think you have the chops to handle what Ustwo is looking for you can apply online for the position that Ustwo needs to fill. According to the studio the role will be for Game Director, stating that it needs someone who take on this position and “lead the creative vision.” If that sounds like you then there’s no time to waste and you should throw your hat in the ring.

Monument Valley is one of the most popular games to ever have graced mobile devices, and though there are no shortage of popular mobile game titles that are much newer than both Monument Valley and Monument Valley 2, both games have racked up huge followings wishing for more of the beautiful lush worlds that Ustwo created for its almost dream-like experiences.

The thing with Monument Valley is that it combined M.C. Escher-style art for the levels with vivid colors and immersive audio experiences. These elements quickly drew attention to the game and took the mobile gaming world by storm, even garnering the first game in the series a plug in Netflix hit show House of Cards.

Both games can be had for pretty cheap and you’ll even stumble on discounts for each of them from time to time, so if you’ve never played them before you may want to give them a go. You should have ample time to beat them both in their entirety before Monument Valley 3 is out as well, given that the game still needs a director.

Ustwo also mentions that there are “two exciting games in development” which likely suggests that those are further along than Monument Valley 3, so it may be a while before a finalized product is anywhere near ready for launch. One of its upcoming games, “Repair,” will be an Apple Arcade exclusive title and has been in development for months now, so it’s highly likely that this will release before most of the work on Monument Valley 3 begins. Either way, fans of Monument Valley will have a new game to look forward too before long.
