Pokémon Masters is almost here, and to help you prepare for your adventure in the Pokémon Masters League the Pokémon Company has launched six new gameplay videos to help break some things down. One video is a gameplay overview which will help give you more of an idea of what Pokémon Masters is all about, which is great if you need a refresher of the game.
You’ll also find a video that describes some of the moves you can do, as well as videos for battling with the different Pokémon, a video that explains a little more about the Sync Pairs, and there’s a two-part series of training videos to round them all out which should help the most in terms of getting you to become familiar with the gameplay.
In addition to all of these videos, Pokémon Masters is now up for pre-registration on Google Play, and though there’s no reward (at least not one that’s mentioned) for pre-registering for the game it does allow you to be notified by Google Play the moment it goes live so you can jump right into all of the action.
The gist of the game’s combat is set up in battles where players face off against their opponents in teams of three. So you and your opponent each have two team mates and all six of you have your own Pokémon to battle with. As noted back during the game’s announcement the battles are in real-time making combat a little more strategic, and your move gauge fills up over time which means you won’t always be able to use certain moves every single turn.
One of the more exciting aspects of the 3v3 team setup for battles in Pokémon Masters is that players are allowed to complete these battles in a Co-op mode where each of the other two team members is controlled by another player. This might serve to be more beneficial if those players are really good at the game, but Co-op mode isn’t needed as players can go though everything in a single player mode where their teammates are controlled by the computer.
A big part of being successful in this game and winning against your opponents is going to be picking the right team members for the battle. You can mix and match different team members to fit the battle as best as possible, but another factor is utilizing your Sync Pairs when you can. As you play more of the game and level up your characters, their stats will increase and you’ll be able to make their (as well as yours) Sync Pairs even stronger for future battles.
If you’re eager to get your hands on this game as soon as possible, you just might be in luck, that is if you’re located in Canada or Singapore. Starting today, select supported Android devices for users in Singapore will have access to a preview version of the game, and any completed content will be able to carry forward to the full version of the game when it launches. Users in Canada are getting the same treatment but there was no specified date, just that the preview version would be available soon and before the game actually launches later this Summer.
