Samsung’s Galaxy Watch Active2 is more or less confirmed now with the press render images that have been leaked over the past couple of weeks, but there’s still no release date set for the new device. That having been said it’s suspected and likely that Samsung will officially announce the Galaxy Watch Active2 alongside the Galaxy Note10 at its upcoming Unpacked event on August 7.
While there has been no leaked information about the release date for Samsung’s new watch, there have been leaked press renders of the device in both its Black and Rose Gold colors, and now a new image has just leaked from Evan Blass which shows off both colors together.
The image isn’t just about both colors of the watch though. There is more detail to pay attention to and if you look closely enough you can pick up on it. For instance, the Rose Gold version of the watch is now shown with an accompanying leather strap whereas it had the more sporty strap made of silicone in the previously leaked press render from back on July 12.
The Rose Gold model in this new image also shows the Galaxy Watch Active2 with the smaller watch case size compared to the Black model, so this is the first time that the watch has been shown with two different sizes side by side.
Prior to these leaked press render images there were leaked pictures of the Galaxy Watch Active2 that were unofficial, and along with those leaked images were some rumored details about the watch, including that it would be coming in two different sizes to meet the needs of people who prefer a smaller size as opposed to big size watch case and vice versa.
In that leaked information it was stated that the Galaxy Watch Active2 would be coming in both a 44mm size as well as a 40mm size, and that appears to be what’s shown here in this new press render, with the Black model being the larger sized option.
A leak from earlier today also notes the watch will come in two different options for screen size based on the size of the watch case. The smaller version of the watch will have a 1.2-inch display according to the rumor while the larger version will come with a 1.4-inch display.
The more important detail of that earlier leak however, is that the Galaxy Watch Active2 is said to be coming with a touch-sensitive bezel, which is quite a development given that the original Watch Active did away with the rotating bezel that has been popular on Samsung’s Gear S series of smartwatches and with the Watch Active2 looking to follow in those footsteps. Coming with a touch bezel allows the watch to have similar functions without the moving part.
Though most of the details about the Galaxy Watch Active2 are not officially confirmed, there is almost nothing left to the imagination about the watch now with the press renders and rumored specifications. There are likely some features which are still a mystery though and will probably be made public during the announcement.
