According to a new report by MySmartPrice (info provided by Ishan Agarwal), the Xiaomi Mi A3 and Mi A3 Lite are coming soon, while the source also revealed what processors will lie inside of these two smartphones. According to the provided info, the Xiaomi Mi A3 will be fueled by the Snapdragon 730, while the Mi A3 Lite will include the Snapdragon 675.
Both of those are 64-bit octa-core processor, and both are Qualcomm’s mid-range offerings. The Snapdragon 730 is the company’s most powerful mid-range chip, at the moment, and it is already fueling the Redmi K20, or as it is known internationally, the Xiaomi Mi 9T. We’re mentioning those two devices, as the Snapdragon 730 has proven to be quite a performer, proving its upper-mid-range category.
Those of you who are familiar with Xiaomi’s Mi A series of devices probably know that those are Xiaomi’s Android One devices, as will the Mi A3 and Mi A3 Lite be. That means that they will ship with vanilla Android, as they’re a part of Google’s Android One project. In other words, Xiaomi’s MIUI skin will not be included on top of Android 9 Pie in the Mi A3 and Mi A3 Lite.
Some rumors are suggesting that the Mi A3’s design will be based on the Mi CC9 series, and not the Mi X series of devices this time around, and if that is the case, then you can expect a waterdrop notch to be included on the Mi A3, and quite possibly the Mi A3 Lite as well.
It is also worth noting that the Xiaomi Mi A3 is codenamed bamboo_sprout, while the Mi A3 Lite is known as cosmos_sprout internally. The Xiaomi Mi A3 will be made out of metal and glass, and the same may happen with the Mi A3 Lite as well.
The Xiaomi Mi A3 is expected to include three cameras on the back, while its main camera will be a 48-megapixel unit, same as on the Mi CC9. The other two cameras will probably be telephoto and ultrawide angle ones, but we’ll see.
If the Xiaomi Mi A3’s design ends up being based on the Mi CC9, a headphone jack will make a return to the device, and that will probably make a lot of people happy, as Xiaomi removed it when it released the Mi A2 last year.
The Xiaomi Mi A3 is expected to feature a 6.39-inch fullHD+ display, while the Mi A3 Lite will probably sport a 6.01-inch fullHD+ panel. A 4,030mAh battery may be included in both devices, in fact, which is quite interesting.
The Xiaomi Mi A2 was announced back in July last year, so it’s the right time for Xiaomi to release its successor as it has been a year since the Mi A2 dropped. The source says that the Mi A3 series is coming soon, and the two devices will probably launch at the very same time, before the end of this month.
We still do not know when or where will this launch take place, as the Mi A series will not be available in China, so Xiaomi may opt to host a press conference somewhere else, in India, perhaps… if the company ends up hosting a press conference at all.
