CSR2 Adds Fast & Furious Content To The Game

CSR2 has added Fast & Furious content to the game in the form of a months-long event based on the latest film in the franchise, Hobbs & Shaw. The event, which stretches out until sometime in October, kicks off the string of races featuring a few of the film’s main characters.

The event encompasses a five-phase ladder race set that spans over 75 races in total. In it, players will have to climb their way up the ranks all while getting behind the wheel of a series of imported and domestic cars found in the Fast & Furious films.

The new limited time event will have some of the most famous vehicles from across the Fast & Furious franchise. This includes the infamous Veilside Mazda RX-7. Players will also get the chance to race the Toyota Supra Aerotop from the first movie, and the Nissan Skyline GT-R(R34 Nismo S Tune) from the second film.

There are more vehicles related to the event, though not all are unlocked. This is an event that goes through October, so more of the cars will be available later in the event’s time frame. In addition to the cars that are being added, players will also encounter characters from the Hobbs & Shaw.

Luke Hobbs (played by Dwayne Johnson), Derek Shaw (played Jason Statham) and MI:6 agent Hattie Shaw (played by Vanessa Kirby) are all characters that have been integrated as part of CSR2 adding Fast & Furious content into the game. The Hobbs & Shaw event will have you come into contact with them in some form, and you’ll have the opportunity to gain ownership of some of these limited time vehicles.

You’ll also have to choose a side between Hobbs or Shaw, though it’s not clear if choosing either side will limit you to specific vehicles or if you’ll be able to acquire all of them regardless.

One thing to keep in mind is that you will need to participate in the Hobbs & Shaw event if you want access to some of those cars. The only way it seems you’re able to do that is if you progress a little beyond the first part of the game that holds your hand through content to get you up to speed on the game’s different mechanics and features. As a racing game dedicated to drag racing, controls aren’t hard and races are quick, so learning the game won’t take long.

It doesn’t look like you can immediately participate in the event, so you may have to play a little bit before those things unlock too, and there’s no telling how long that may take, so playing as often and as early as possible may be a good idea if you’re extremely interested in getting some of the limited special content.

Zynga doesn’t mention the exact date of when the Hobbs & Shaw event ends, but it does note that the beginning of the latest portion of it starts today, August 13. There’s also no details on what cars will be obtainable through normal in-game currency or premium currency, though you can already outright purchase the Veilside Mazda RX-7 for a flat $19.99 if you want to skirt past the gameplay content.
