An upcoming update for Lineage II is introducing new content for players soon, including a brand-new race called the Kaemael. These one-winged elvish-looking characters will be the focus of the new content. Initially, players of this race will be able to pick from three different classes.
These classes will include the Arbalester, Berserker, and Soul Breaker. These are essentially Rogues, Warriors, and Mages respectively. The Kaemael race will also have class mechanics that are unique to them and them alone, which will afford players a slightly different play style, thanks in part to the unique weapons that each of them will use.
Alongside the addition of the new class, the update will also introduce a new system to the game called dual class. With this players will be able to try out different class types without having to create an entirely new character. Something similar to this is utilized in Final Fantasy XIV. In that game players can level up every class with a single character. This eliminates the need to have multiple characters that you have to log in and out of.
Lineage II’s adaption of this mechanic is not quite on the same scale, but it’ll be a good way for players to practice how other classes feel during combat. One thing to keep in mind is that you will probably be limited to using a new class of the same race, so if you already have a character of a different race like the most recently added Orc, then you would still need to create a new character if you wanted to try out the Kaemael.
Dual classes will only be available for players after they have reached a certain level. New players will need to create a character of one class and level that class up for a little while before they can add in the second, which means you will have to spend a little time playing before accessing this particular new content.
There will be other new things to engage in though. The update includes a handful of new events to look forward to for all players. A new level up boosting event will let you quickly get your characters up to level 320, and there’s a new server being added to the game. Netmarble is rewarding players who choose to play on this new server specifically, gifting them items and currency including 10,000,000 million Adena, 3,000 diamonds, and trial tickets.
As a race it looks like the Kaemael will have stats that are heavily focused on attack, evasion, and crit. rate, so that’s something to keep in mind when deciding whether or not to choose them over another race.
Currently there’s no time for a release of the update, but Netmarble will be sharing more information about it soon. It has however already set up pre-registration for the content update. Pre-registering will open players up to receiving a reward, which is listed as +30 Enhancement Coupons, which will start being sent out to players once the update is live in the game. Specifically, these are Enhance scrolls.
