Nubia has just announced its new flagship, the Nubia Z20, and the device looks really nice. This phone’s bezels are amongst the thinnest in the market, and the company did that without including a display notch, display hole, or a pop-up camera.
No, the Nubia Z20 is not the first smartphone to sport an under-display selfie camera, instead, the company opted to include two displays on this phone. The Nubia Z20 features a main display on the front, and a smaller one on the back, so you’ll basically be using the phone’s rear-facing camera as selfie shooters as well, all you need to do is flip the phone over.
The device is made out of metal and glass, while both its front and rear sides are curved. The Nubia Z20’s top and bottom bezels are proportional, while its fingerprint scanner sits on the side. The volume up and down buttons are placed on the right, while a microSD card slot sits on the left.
The device includes three cameras on the back, and those three cameras are horizontally aligned, while an LED flash is placed next to them. Nubia’s logo is also present on the back of the device.
A 6.42-inch fullHD+ (2340 x 1080) curved AMOLED display is featured on the front side of the device, while a 5.1-inch HD+ (1520 x 720) AMOLED flat panel sits on the back side of the phone.
The Nubia Z20 is fueled by the Snapdragon 855 Plus 64-bit octa-core processor, while it includes 6GB / 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB / 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage. Android 9 Pie comes pre-installed on the phone, along with Nubia UI 7.0 skin.
On the back of the device, you’ll find 48-megapixel (Sony’s IMX586 sensor, 0.8um pixel size, f/1.7 aperture, OIS), 16-megapixel (122.2-degree lens, 2.5cm macro), and an 8-megapixel (telephoto lens, 3x loss-less zoom, 30x digital zoom).
A 4,000mAh battery is also included in this package, and the phone supports 27W fast PD charging, Quick Charge 4.0. Bluetooth 5.1 is included in the package as well, as are two SIM card slots (2x nano SIM).
The device features FIT4.0, pressure-sensitive frame with custom long and short grip shortcut functions, and an option for right and left virtual game buttons functions on the secondary screen. On top of that, a four-finger operation is also included here, and a number of other benefits for gamers.
The phone measures 158.63 x 75.26 x 9mm, while it weighs 186 grams. The Nubia Z20 comes in Black, Blue, and Red color variants, and its 6GB RAM model is priced at 3,499 Yuan ($496) in China. The phone’s 8GB RAM model with 128GB of storage costs 3,699 Yuan ($524) in China, while the most powerful variant with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of storage is priced at 4,199 Yuan ($595).
The phone can be ordered in China starting today, and it will become available for purchase on August 16. Nubia said that the phone will reach the US, Canada, the UK, and Europe next month, though it still did not publish any info regarding international pricing.
