The Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro were announced back in May. So, these two phones are still considered to be quite new. Well, despite that fact, Redmi’s General Manager has already confirmed that the Redmi K30 5G is on the way.
Lu Weibing is the company’s General Manager, and he made this confirmation via his official Weibo (Chinese social media) page. Mr. Weibing confirmed that the Redmi K30 will support 5G, and by doing so, he confirmed that the Redmi K30 is in the works.
The Redmi K30 series is expected to arrive in 2020
That is pretty much all that Mr. Weibing shared. This confirmation comes rather early, as the Redmi K30 series is not expected to appear until next year. Well, mid-2020, if Redmi intends on sticking to its release cycle. It is, of course, possible that the company will opt to release the Redmi K30 sooner.
In fact, Redmi could release the Redmi K30 in November if it opts for a different strategy. The company could decide to follow OnePlus’ model, and release flagships every six months. We are only spitballing here, but it is a possibility.
It seems more probable that the Redmi K30 will arrive next year, though. We are once again expecting at least two K30 smartphones to become official. Chances are that we will see both 4G and 5G variants of the Redmi K30.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 will probably fuel it
If the Redmi K30 arrives in mid-2020, you can expect it to ship with the next-gen Qualcomm flagship. That will probably be the Snapdragon 865. In addition to that, Redmi will do its best to keep the price under control, as that is one of the main selling points of its phones.
The Redmi K30 is still a huge mystery, and chances are we will not see any leaks regarding this phone anytime soon. Unless Redmi opts to change its release cycle, of course.
The Redmi K20 and K20 Pro have been quite successful for the company. The Redmi K20 is a mid-range phone, while the Redmi K20 Pro is the company’s flagship.
These two phones look the same, pretty much. The difference lies underneath, as the Redmi K20 is fueled by the Snapdragon 730 SoC. The Redmi K20 Pro, on the other hand, comes with the Snapdragon 855.
The Redmi K20 and K20 Pro were re-launched by Redmi for global markets under Xiaomi’s branding.
The regular Redmi K20 became the Xiaomi Mi 9T, while the Redmi K20 Pro transformed into the Mi 9T Pro.
