Samsung is planning to announce a new smartphone with “Galaxy M” branding soon, it seems. The company has allegedly released a new teaser for the device, more or less confirming a 6,000mAh battery.
Do note that this teaser was shared by Gaurav Chaudhary on Twitter, not Samsung itself. The teaser does seem to be legit, though.
In addition to the number “6,000” that the company highlighted, it also used the “GoMonster” hashtag. Considering that the letter “M” has been highlighted in that hashtag, it’s easy to assume this is the Galaxy M phone.
It seems like this phone will arrive to India first, and we have two phones in mind. This will either be the Galaxy M20s or Galaxy M30s. Why? Well, both the Galaxy M20 and M30 featured a 5,000mAh battery, so it makes sense.
That 6,000mAh battery appeared in a leaked picture a couple of weeks ago. According to SamMobile, the Galaxy M30s seems like a more probable device to appear, not the Galaxy M20s.
This Galaxy M handset is probably the Galaxy M30s
SamMobile claims that it was unable to find any proof of the Galaxy M20s’ existence. The Galaxy M30s is a completely different story. That device appeared at the Wi-Fi Alliance quite recently, and was also benchmarked recently.
The Galaxy M30s appeared on Geekbench, and it managed to score 1,680 points in a single-core test. The device hit 5,211 points in the multi-core test.
That listing also revealed that the Galaxy M30s (SM-M307F) will ship with Android 9 Pie. On top of it, you’ll get Samsung’s One UI skin, by the way.
Geekbench also suggested that the phone will include 4GB of RAM, and be fueled by the Exynos 9610 SoC. That is a 64-bit octa-core processor, in case you were wondering. It is also worth noting that we’re looking at a mid-range SoC here.
That is pretty much all the info that we have regarding this phone’s specifications. It is safe to assume that it will ship with a large display, though, and that it will be quite affordable.
The design of the phone is also a mystery at this point. However, the device may resemble the Galaxy M30, and it probably will.
If that ends up being the case, the Galaxy M30s will feature a waterdrop display notch, and thin bezels all around. It will also include a “chin” below the display, and vertically-aligned cameras on the back. A rear-facing fingerprint scanner will probably also going to be included.
