Spotify Premium Is Free Of Charge For Certain AT&T Customers

Spotify is recognized as the world’s most popular streaming music service, offering up a tantalizing free option that’s ad-supported, as well as a premium option with a $9.99 monthly cost that lets you skip as much as you want and listen to music with absolutely no ads at all, among other things. AT&T now wants to give its customers the premium version of Spotify for free. Yes, free.

There is a requirement here. Not all AT&T customers are able to get Spotify Premium at no charge. To access it without paying the $9.99 a month, you’ll need to be on AT&T’s Unlimited & More Premium plan. Spotify Premium is now one of the options for premium entertainment content that AT&T is letting customers on this plan choose. It’s added alongside other premium services like HBO, STARZ, Cinemax and more.

There are seven premium entertainment options available with Spotify now being the seventh, and customers can only choose one of those that they won’t have to pay for. This means if you are on this plan and you select Spotify Premium as your premium service, you won’t be able to select any of the others, so customers will want to choose wisely.

In addition to the requirement of being on the AT&T Unlimited & More Premium plan customers will have to wait until August 6 before they can actually select Spotify Premium from the list of premium perks, but seeing as it’s August 5 and it’s almost noon that’s not that long of a wait.

If you’re an AT&T customer but you’re not on the required plan, you still have a chance to get Spotify Premium from AT&T. It won’t be free indefinitely though. As part of Spotify Premium being added to AT&T’s list of premium perks, they’re giving away Spotify Premium in the form of a 6-month free trial to select AT&T customers.

The carrier does not specify what qualifies people to be a select customer, just that the offer is there and that they’re targeting the offer at these individuals.

That being said if you subscribe to AT&T for your wireless service you may want to keep an eye on your email inbox or messaging inbox from any offers that AT&T is tossing your way from tomorrow, as this may well be where you find the offer for the Spotify Premium 6-month free trial. It’s also possible that AT&T may simply tell customers about this offer in retail stores as they visit, or send it out in mailers.

Along with Spotify, HBO, STARZ, and Cinemax, AT&T Unlimited & More customers can also choose from three other services to round out the seven which are VRV, SHOWTIME, or Pandora Premium. It’s worth noting that customers with multiple lines on the AT&T Unlimited & More family plan will only get to select one premium perk, so it might be worth figuring out what each line wants so that everyone can agree on something. Once customers choose one of the premium perks, they also won’t be able to change it again for one year.
