The latest accessories from ZAGG for the Galaxy Note 10 protect against everyday drops and hopefully prevent cracks and other damage. Smartphone screens are broken all too often. According to ZAGG, more than 50 million smartphone screens belonging to American consumers were broken in 2018. That’s why it creates products that are designed to protect screens from scratches, drops, and dings.
There are six new accessories that ZAGG is releasing. Two are being geared towards protecting the display, and the other four are geared towards protecting the phone. The display accessories are ZAGG’s new Invisible Shield screen protectors, while the phone accessories are cases in ZAGG’s Gear4 line.
ZAGG’s Galaxy Note 10 Invisible Shield screen protectors come in two options, and will be available for both the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+. The first is the Invisible Shield Ultra Clear protector. This has a high-gloss surface finish. The second is the Invisible Shield Ultra VisionGuard which comes with a “unique finish” and is thinner than the Ultra Clear model.
Both protectors afford something a little bit different, but both also provide the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+ with advanced shatter protection. The VisionGuard protector, however, comes with a self-healing technology baked in so if you do happen to ding the display with it on, the Nano-Memory technology can probably fix the ding. The technology is only designed to self-heal minor dings and scratches though, so extreme damage can still be an issue.
The VisionGuard protector also protects against HEV blue light. If you use your device in darker rooms, like at night time when you’re lying in bed and getting ready to go to sleep, the VisionGuard protector can help prevent strain on your eyes that can be caused by staring at a screen for too long.
The Clear protector doesn’t have the self-healing technology but it does come with the high-gloss finish so it should be less noticeable, and it’s cheaper. The Clear protector will cost $30 while the VisionGuard will cost $40, so if you’re not worried about blue light and you don’t care about the self-healing tech, you can save yourself ten bucks.
As for the ZAGG Galaxy Note 10 accessories in the Gear4 case lineup, there’s the Oxford Eco, the Piccadilly, the Battersea, and the Crystal Palace options to choose from. There’s more choice too, as there are two color options for all of the cases except the Oxford Eco model, which only comes in Black.
The Crystal Palace can be picked up in either clear or iridescent, while the Battersea comes in Pink Diamond and Black, and the Piccadilly comes in Black and Blue. The Oxford Eco and Battersea cases will retail for $50, while the Crystal Palace and Piccadilly cases will be $40. The latter two are less expensive, but they’re also thinner and there will be less bulk around the phone. They will still protect the device too.
The Crystal Palace is more of a plastic shell case while the Piccadilly is the one to go for if you want a bumper-style case. If you want better protection, the Oxford Eco offers this as it was tested to protect against damage from up to 13-foot drops. It also comes with card slots so you can leave your wallet at home and carry your ID and credit/debit cards in the phone case. The Battersea on the other hand seems to offer the best protection as it was tested to withstand drops up to 16 feet.
ZAGG says the accessories are all available on its website already, but some of them already appear to be sold out. The Crystal Palace cases for example are no longer available online as ZAGG is out of stock, save for the Clear model for the Galaxy Note 10.
