Anker has launched six new sets of wireless earbuds under its Soundcore Bluetooth earphones lineup. The new earbuds consist of three flagship Liberty models, led by the $150 priced Liberty 2 Pro, and three cheaper Spirit models, all priced under $100. All of Anker’s new earbuds will be available starting next month.
Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro
The Liberty 2 Pro is Anker’s first foray into premium audio. Featuring a first-of-its-kind coaxial driver tuned by Grammy-winning audio engineers, Anker says Liberty 2 Pro creates a sound that is “sonically accurate.” In simpler terminology, the buds feature a combination of a dynamic driver and a balanced armature driver, delivering the best bass, mids, and highs. And with Four built-in microphones, Liberty 2 Pro promises a good sound isolation as well. The new earbuds also feature Qualcomm’s aptX technology. To ensure user comfort, Anker is offering seven pairs of ear tips with the buds.
For connectivity, the Liberty 2 Pro comes with Bluetooth 5.0. The companion smartphone app lets you customize audio settings. These buds charge wirelessly via their included case, which itself features USB-C fast charging technology. Anker promises up to eight hours of battery life on the buds, and up to 32 hours total with the case. The Liberty 2 Pro will be available on Soundcore.com, Amazon and Best Buy beginning October 8 for $149.99. Anker, however, is offering the buds at just $99 if you pre-order them before September 28. The buds will be available for pre-order at $119 during the period between September 28 to October 8.
Soundcore Liberty 2
If you’re not willing to shell out $150 on Liberty 2 Pro, Anker has a stripped-down version as well. The Liberty 2 earbuds feature less powerful diamond-coated 10mm drivers and cost $99.99 only. The rest of the specs remain the same. You get four-mic noise-canceling technology, IPX5 waterproof and sweatproof rating, USB-C fast charging with eight hours of battery life (32 hours with the case), and more in exactly the same housing. The Liberty 2 earbuds will be available on Walmart and Amazon starting early October.
Soundcore Liberty Air 2
These Apple AirPods lookalike, meanwhile, feature 6mm diamond-coated drivers and a “stick” form factor. Battery life comes down slightly to seven hours (28 hours with the case), but they retain the rest of the specs of Liberty 2. The Liberty Air 2 earbuds will also cost $99.99 when they launch next month. They will be available through Walmart, Best Buy and Amazon.
Soundcore Spirit 2 series
Anker’s Spirit 2 lineup consists of three sports-focused models, the Spirit 2, Spirit Dot 2, and the Spirit X2. All of the models offer better sweat and waterproof ratings than the Liberty models. Spirit 2 and Spirit X2 come with IP68 sweat guard technology, whereas the Spirit Dot 2 has an IPX7 rating.
The Spirit 2, which are Anker’s cheapest offering at $49.99, are traditional Bluetooth earphones with a wire connecting the left and right buds. They feature 10mm composite drivers and offer up to 14 hours of playtime on a single charge. The buds have a USB Type-C port for charging. Spirit 2 wireless earphones are now available to buy from Amazon and Soundcore.com.
The Spirit Dot 2 and X2 are both true wireless earbuds and feature 8mm and 12mm composite drivers respectively. The two buds differ significantly when it comes to battery life. The former advertises only 5.5 hours of use (16 hours with the charging case), whereas the latter promise nine hours of playtime, and a whopping 36 hours with the case. The Spirit X2 also has an earhook design.
The Dot 2 buds are priced at $79.99 and will be available on Amazon and Soundcore.com next month. The Spirit X2, on the other hand, costs $99.99 and will be available through Target and Amazon.
