These are the top 10 best Android smartphones for the month of September 2019.
Techtember is in full swing. We’ve already seen a number of phones announced, and a few more coming in October. But many of these new phones are not yet available for purchase. Because of that, our list hasn’t changed a lot this month. But there are a couple of new additions this time around that you’ll want to check out.
With that said, these are the best smartphones that are currently available for purchase.
10. Huawei P30 Pro
This is likely the last month that the P30 Pro will be on our list. That is because the Mate 30 Pro was announced earlier this month. But since it is not yet available, it’s not on our list – we only list smartphones you can buy today.
The P30 Pro is just under six months old at this point, but it’s still a really incredible smartphone. Huawei has built a pretty spectacular smartphone here, with some crazy good cameras and a really amazing display. It has a quad camera setup on the back. There’s the main 40-megapixel sensor, with a 8-megapixel periscope lens, a 20-megapixel ultrawide lens and then finally a Time of Flight lens.
There’s a large 6.47-inch full HD display on the front, and it’s powered by the Kirin 980 with 6GB of RAM and a large 4200mAh capacity battery. This thing is going to last all day and take some amazing photos, especially at night. And for that, it deserves a spot on our list.

9. Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro
Replacing the Xiaomi Mi 9 this month, we have the Mi 9T Pro, which we believe is a better value. Even if it is only a few months newer.
The Mi 9T Pro has basically everything that you would expect from a flagship in 2019. That includes a 6.39-inch Full HD bezel-less display, powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 chipset, 6GB of RAM and a 4000mAh capacity battery.
The cameras on the Mi 9T Pro are also pretty impressive. We’re looking at a triple-camera setup here. With a 48-megapixel main sensor, a 8-megapixel telephoto and a 13-megapixel ultrawide angle sensor. Xiaomi has done some really incredible things with cameras in recent years, and the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro is no exception.

8. HONOR 20 Pro
The HONOR 20 Pro is pretty similar to the Huawei P30 Pro, but much cheaper – and doesn’t have that crazy periscope camera.
This smartphone from HONOR has everything you’d expect from a 2019 smartphone. A big, beautiful display, a pretty large capacity battery, and of course a quad camera setup, for taking some really incredible photos. HONOR has the usual ultrawide, wide and telephoto lenses on the 20 Pro here. But it also includes a dedicated macro lens, which takes some really great close-up shots.
HONOR did everything right with the 20 Pro, but unfortunately, due to the Trump Ban, we are unsure if the HONOR 20 Pro will get further support. HONOR has said it will get Android 10, but we don’t know if it’ll get updates past that.
7. Google Pixel 3 Series
Despite the Pixel 4 coming in a little over two weeks, the Pixel 3 is still a pretty good option, especially if you can get it on sale.
It already has Android 10, which is what the Pixel 4 will launch with. It also still has a pretty incredible camera. In fact, the camera is so incredible that I recently went back to it, because nothing else can match it. There are two sizes of the Pixel 3, with the larger Pixel 3 XL having that gigantic notch. Unless you really want that larger screen, the Pixel 3 is going to be the better option out of these two.
Of course, we can’t forget that this is also running a stock version of Android. So things are pretty lightweight here. With the Pixel 3 routinely coming in at under $600, it’s hard not to grab this one.

6. LG G8 ThinQ
The LG G8 ThinQ is actually a bigger upgrade over the G7 ThinQ than you might think. It’s the first time LG has used an OLED display on a G series smartphone. It also ditched the earpiece, and has an in-display speaker, as well as a larger battery now – thanks to LG making the back flush with the cameras.
So what’s the LG G8 ThinQ missing? A camera. Unlike LG’s previous flagship smartphone, The G8 ThinQ only has two rear-cameras. That’s perfectly fine. But having a third telephoto lens would definitely be nice. LG did keep the wide-angle lens, which is really great for taking group shots and shots of architecture while you’re on vacation this summer.
There is a Time of Flight sensor on the front of the LG G8 ThinQ, which gives you better portrait mode selfies, and also some rather cool gestures for changing the volume, answering calls and more. You can pick up the LG G8 ThinQ from Amazon using the link below, it’s currently priced at $849.
5. ASUS ROG Phone II
You name it, and the ASUS ROG Phone II has it.
Want a high-refresh rate display?It’s there. There’s a 120Hz AMOLED display. It’s got a huge (and we mean huge) 6000mAh capacity battery inside. This is powered by the Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset, with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. And it also has a pretty funky style that looks pretty cool.
This is made for gaming, but that doesn’t mean you can’t buy this phone and not game on it. It’s going to run Android 10 like a champ, and with 512GB of storage on-board, you won’t run out anytime soon. Now there is a 48-megapixel sensor on the back, with a secondary 13-megapixel lens. It’s decent, but don’t expect camera of the year here.
ASUS ROG Phone II - Amazon - $899
4. Sony Xperia 1
This is the tallest smartphone on this list. That may or may not be a good thing, depending on what you’re looking for in a smartphone.
The Sony Xperia 1 has an OLED 4K HDR display, making it one of the most pixel-dense displays too. It’s sitting at a 21:9 aspect ratio, which is the same aspect that movies are shot in, so it makes sense from an entertainment consumption standpoint. . It’s a really good display for consuming content and such. But the reason why it’s not any higher than four this month, is because of that 21:9 aspect ratio. It’s a bit tough to use.
Internally, it still has the specs you’d expect, Snapdragon 855, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage and a pretty small 3330mAh capacity battery.
But there is that triple camera, that is being powered by Sony’s Alpha team. So expect some great things out of this camera too.
3. Samsung Galaxy S10 Series
Samsung’s Galaxy S10 lineup has three models – Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 Plus. Essentially offering something for everyone, and it starts at $649 right now.
The Galaxy S10e is the cheapest of the bunch, and it sports a flat display, and ditches the telephoto camera – keeping the main and ultrawide. It’s a really good option for those that want a flagship without a $1,000 price tag.
Then there’s the Galaxy S10, which adds the telephoto lens, brings in a curved display. The Galaxy S10+ is a little bit bigger, and adds a depth camera on the front. Otherwise, these are all the same. With the same Snapdragon 855 chipset, and 8GB of RAM.

2. OnePlus 7 Pro
Despite the OnePlus 7T being announced recently, the OnePlus 7 Pro is still a better phone. Partly because the 7T is not its successor.
Coming in at $669, this is a pretty crazy value. It has that large 6.67-inch Quad HD AMOLED display with the 90Hz refresh rate. Not quite the same level as the ASUS ROG Phone II, but still pretty good. It is completely bezel-less since it has a pop-up camera instead. And it has some pretty impressive internals.
There’s the Snapdragon 855 chipset, powered by 8GB or 12GB of RAM, and 128GB or 256GB of storage included. All this for that price is pretty crazy. Not to mention that Nebula Blue color is amazing.

1. Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Series
The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 is the best smartphone available today. And if you have the extra cash, definitely spend it on the Galaxy Note 10 Plus, you won’t be sorry.
There are two models this year. With the Galaxy Note 10 getting a smaller 6.3-inch full HD+ display, and the Galaxy Note 10 Plus getting a larger 6.8-inch Quad HD+ display. That right there shows you the biggest differences between the two. But the Galaxy Note 10 also has a smaller 3500mAh capacity battery versus the 4300mAh on the Note 10 Plus. The Note 10 also doesn’t get the Time of Flight sensor that the Galaxy Note 10 Plus has.
Otherwise these both have the same specs and features. That includes a Snapdragon 855 chipset, 8GB of RAM (up to 12GB on the Note 10 Plus) and 256GB of storage. There is also the almighty S Pen available on both.
