Best Of IFA 2019: ASUS ROG Phone II

The ASUS ROG Phone II combines a 120Hz AMOLED display, top-of-the-line processor, huge battery, and UFS 3.0 to set the standard in the gaming segment

The ASUS ROG Phone II was introduced in China back in July. ASUS did bring this phone to IFA 2019, though, in order to re-announce it for global markets.

That being said, this phone is one of the most powerful devices that came to IFA. The ASUS ROG Phone II may even be the best smartphone for gaming out there, as it truly caters to gamers.

This phone does that by not only offering the top-of-the-line specifications which are put together for gaming purposes, but features as well. The phone’s design was also carefully considered by ASUS, and we’ll explain why in a second.

No notch, no display hole

Let’s start with the design, shall we. This smartphone does not include a display notch, or a display hole. There’s a good reason for that, ASUS did not want to obstruct the content by including such distractions.

On top of that, this handset has bezels above and below the display, and they’re also there for a reason. You have to grip this phone for something while you’re gaming, it would be really odd if it had considerably thinner bezels.

The company even included front-facing speakers here, so that the gaming experience is even more pronounced.

To top things off in the design department, this handset even offers ultrasonic AirTriggers. You no longer have to raise your fingers before tapping AirTriggers, and they’re a great alternative for a gamepad.

The ASUS ROG Phone II features dual vibrating motors

ASUS even included dual high-end vibrating motors in the ROG Phone II, for surround feel. This should make gaming even more immersive. A 3.5mm headphone jack is a part of the package as well, in case you need to use headphones.

A 6,000mAh battery will make sure you have plenty of game time before you need a charge. Once you end up needing to top off, 30W HyperCharge fast charging is included. This tech can fully charge this huge battery in two hours. In only 58 minutes, two-thirds of the phone’s battery can be charged up (4,000mAh capacity).

120Hz AMOLED display, Snapdragon 855 Plus & 12GB of RAM

The ASUS ROG Phone II’s 120Hz AMOLED display is perfect for gaming. Its fullHD+ resolution is more than enough to enjoy games properly, and will definitely drain less battery than a QHD+ panel.

Everything is extremely smooth on this display, while the display itself is protected by a sheet of Gorilla Glass 6. The phone also utilizes one of the most powerful mobile processors, the Snapdragon 855 Plus, and up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM.

To top everything off, ASUS also included UFS 3.0 storage here, to make sure everything is running super smooth. The ASUS ROG Phone II is easily one of the best gaming smartphones in the market, if not the very best one.
