The LG G8X ThinQ will become official tomorrow at IFA 2019 in Berlin. LG will host its press conference in Berlin on September 6, and some info just surfaced.
A well-known tipster, Roland Quandt, more or less confirmed that the LG G8X ThinQ is launching tomorrow. If you take a look at the provided promo image, you will see the device with its second screen accessory called “LG Dual Screen”.
In addition to that, Mr. Quandt shared a short video showing promo content for this phone. It seems like LG’s marketing will be focused on that second screen accessory.
Promo materials reveal some details
These promo materials do provide us with a look at the LG G8X ThinQ as well. Based on this, it seems like the phone will be made out of metal and glass, which was expected.
The device will include a waterdrop display notch, and two cameras on the back. A thin “chin” will be present below the phone’s display, while LGs branding will be included on the back.
The LG Dual Screen accessory will allow you to expand the phone’s display, pretty much. The experience won’t exactly be like if it were a foldable phone, due to a gap between the two displays.
Its renders surfaced last month
This handset surfaced on Pricebaba last month in a number of renders. Those renders are now pretty much confirmed by this new leak.
The phone will feature a flat display, by the way. Its display corners will be rounded, while the back side of the phone will be curved on the sides.
We don’t really have much spec info when it comes to this phone, but some did leak. The phone’s display will allegedly measure 6.2 inches in diagonal.
The device will be fueled by the Snapdragon 855 or Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC, while you can expect at least 6GB of RAM to be included.
The phone will measure 159.3 x 75.8 x 8.5mm, while we still do not know how much will it weight. The phone will not include fancy 3D facial recognition system like the LG G8 ThinQ, which is easy to notice due to the size of its notch.
The LG G8 ThinQ is expected to include an in-display fingerprint scanner, though. Android 9 Pie will come pre-installed on the phone, along with LG’s custom UI.
