This Is The Unreleased Motorola One Macro

Motorola’s rapidly expanding roster of Motorola One smartphones may soon be joined by another model. A bunch of new leaks and rumors suggest that the company is actively working on a new smartphone, reportedly called the Motorola One Macro. The leaks include a specs leak, a live image leak, a Geekbench benchmark listing, and a certification in Thailand.

Motorola launched the Motorola One Vision in May, followed by the Motorola One Action in August and the Motorola One Zoom earlier this month. Now the sheer number of leaks and rumors all surfacing at the same time hints at an imminent launch of the Motorola One Macro. Motorola has three variants of the One Macro in works. The devices carry the model numbers XT2015-2, XT2016-1, and XT2016-2.

Motorola One Macro specs

The Motorola One Macro will feature a 19:9 HD+ display (1520×720 pixels). While the display size is not known yet, a live image of the One Macro’s front obtained by XDA Developers reveals a large chin and a waterdrop notch which houses a single selfie camera. The leaked image also reveals rounded corners, a flat display, and purple-colored buttons. The Motorola One Macro will be available in “Iron” and “Cosmo” color variants.

Details about the camera specifications, as well as the number of rear cameras, are not available yet. Motorola, however, is said to be working on a new Macro photo and video mode for the device. The feature likely gives the phone its name, as the company has been naming its One series devices after their camera capabilities lately. The new smartphone will come sans the Night Vision camera mode.

The Motorola One Macro’s internals include a MediaTek Helio P60 or MediaTek Helio P70 processor coupled with up to 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage. The handset’s Geekbench listing reveals an Helio P60 SoC and 2GB RAM. This could be one of the three variants that are under development.

The upcoming Motorola smartphone will run Android 9 Pie with Motorola’s customizations on top. An update to Android 10 will likely be guaranteed. The whole package will be powered by a 4,000mAh battery. Depending on the market, the device will support NFC, dual SIM, both, or neither. Support for a MicroSD card isn’t yet confirmed. All the variants, however, are expected to feature a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner embedded within the brand’s logo.

Motorola One Macro launch date

A variant of the Motorola One Macro with model number XT2016-1 has just been certified by Thailand’s NBTC. While the certification doesn’t reveal any other details, it does hints at an imminent launch. The Motorola One Macro should be available soon in the markets in Europe, Asia, the US, and Latin America. There’s no word yet on the precise launch date, though.
