OPPO Reno 2 Series Will Be Unveiled On October 10 In London: Official

OPPO has announced that its brand new Reno 2 series is coming on October 16. The launch event will take place in London, the company has announced.

Having said that, OPPO will announce several phones during that launch event. The regular OPPO Reno 2 will be a part of the announcement, as will the OPPO Reno Ace, almost certainly.

As part of its invite that was sent out to press, OPPO clearly confirms that we’re looking at the Reno 2 series of devices. The company also uses the “Zoom into Imagination” tagline for the event. This probably suggests some crazy zoom capabilities of the OPPO Reno Ace flagship.

The OPPO Reno 2 already got announced in India

The OPPO Reno 2 got announced in India quite recently, so we know exactly what to expect in that regard. The Reno Ace, on the other hand, will be announced on October 10 in China. The company confirmed that much yesterday, as it seems like it’s planning to unveil its flagship on two continents on the same day.

The OPPO Reno 2 is made out of metal and glass, and it features extremely thin bezels. The phone also sports a sharkfin pop-up camera, and four cameras on the back. The OPPO Reno Ace will probably resemble this phone quite a bit.

The power / lock button is placed on the right-hand side of the device, while the volume up and down buttons sit on the left. The phone’s rear cameras are vertically-aligned, while its display offers rounded corners.

This smartphone features a 6.55-inch fullHD+ Dynamic AMOLED display, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage. Android 9 Pie comes pre-installed, with ColorOS 6.0 on top of it.

A 4,000mAh battery is included in the package, along with VOOC 3.0 fast charging. 48, 13, 8, and 2-megapixel cameras sit on the back of this phone. The phone does include a headphone jack, and is fueled by the Snapdragon 730G 64-bit octa-core processor.

What to expect out of the OPPO Reno Ace?

The OPPO Reno Ace will probably look similar to the Reno 2, maybe even the same, but it will be a completely different beast. That phone is expected to include the Snapdragon 855 Plus, up to 12GB of RAM and UFS 3.0 flash storage.

It remains to be seen if it will ship with a 90Hz display, but that’s quite possible, We also don’t know if OPPO will opt for a fullHD+ or QHD+ panel, but the size will probably be the same as on the Reno 2.

This phone will include OPPO’s ground-breaking 65W charging technology. That tech is presumed to be able to charge the device in half an hour or less, despite a 4,000mAh battery. If that ends up being the case, it will be the fastest charging tech available on a smartphone to date.

The OPPO Reno Ace will also offer a different camera setup on the back. The phone is expected to include a periscope-style camera system, and offer crazy zoom capabilities. The launch event is not far at this point, so we’ll see what will happen.
