Plantronics Launches Three New True Wireless Earbuds & Headphones

Plantronics may not be a household name in the headphones arena, but it’s slowly growing into one. Poly, the company behind Plantronics headphones, has just announced the launch of three new true wireless earbuds.

Poly’s latest additions include two new models in its BackBeat FIT line – the BackBeat FIT 3150 and BackBeat FIT 3200, and an all-new BackBeat PRO 5100. The PRO 5100 is the company’s first true wireless model in its BackBeat PRO line. There’s also a new over-the-ear headset from Poly, the BackBeat FIT 6100.

Plantronics rebranded as Poly following the acquisition of Polycom earlier this year. However, its products still bear the Plantronics name.

Plantronics BackBeat FIT 3150

The BackBeat FIT 3150 is Poly’s intended successor to last year’s BackBeat FIT 3100 wireless earbuds. Designed for fitness enthusiasts who enjoy outdoor running, the buds feature an ear hook to help keep them intact. You also get ambient sound, IP-57 rating for water resistance, and sweatproof rating on the BackBeat FIT 3150 buds, making them safer for outdoor usage.

The BackBeat FIT 3150 earbuds can run for up to eight hours on a single charge with 16 extra hours of battery with the charging case. The buds are available in Black and Black-blue color options for $150.

Plantronics BackBeat FIT 3200

The BackBeat FIT 3200 earbuds are nearly identical to the FIT 3150s. The only major difference between the two is the former featuring noise-isolating ear tips, offering an immersive listening experience. There’s also an “Awareness” mode that mixes music with the surrounding sound, allowing you to enjoy your favorite tunes while staying in touch with what’s happening around you. The rest of the specs and features are the same as that of BackBeat FIT 3150. The BackBeat FIT 3200 earbuds also cost $150. They come in Black and Teal color variants.

Plantronics BackBeat PRO 5100

The BackBeat PRO 5100 are the smallest and lightest buds in Poly’s entire Plantronics portfolio. They come sans the ear hook, but should still be comfortable and stable enough to wear, thanks to their tiny size. The BackBeat PRO 5100 buds feature four noise-canceling mics and passive noise-isolating ear tips, allowing minimal background noise to sneak in. Poly also claims the PRO 5100 to feature an exclusive WindSmart technology that tunes out background noise.

The BackBeat PRO 5100 earbuds can each last for about six and a half hours on a single charge. The charging case can hold an additional 13 hours of power. These buds are available for $170 in Black only.

Last but not least, Poly has an over-the-ear headset among its latest offerings. The BackBeat FIT 6100 headphone has an adjustable headband which is breathable. It boasts IPX5-rated water-resistant and sweatproof design.

You also get noise-isolating earcups and the “Awareness” mode in the BackBeat FIT 6100. The headphone connects over Bluetooth 5.0 and has a battery life of about 24 hours. It can be purchased in Black, Camo and Pepper Grey colors for $180.

All four of Poly’s latest offerings charge over MicroUSB. The three true wireless buds can also be used separately in mono mode. They also offer Poly’s “My Tap” feature. My Tap lets the user customize single or double taps on the buds to play their favorite playlist, set a timer, interval train, and more.

The BackBeat FIT 3150, BackBeat FIT 3200, BackBeat PRO 5100 and BackBeat FIT 6100 are now available on Plantronics.com, Amazon, Best Buy, and other major retailers across the world.
