Redmi K20 Pro Premium Edition Unveiled With SD855 Plus & 12GB Of RAM

Redmi has announced a brand new version of its K20 Pro flagship. This new phone is called the Redmi K20 Pro Premium Edition, and it is essentially the K20 Pro, but even more powerful.

Redmi K20 Pro Premium Edition is the Redmi K20 Pro on steroids

Unlike the regular K20 Pro, the Redmi K20 Pro Premium Edition comes with the Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC, 12GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage. It is worth noting that an 8GB RAM model is available as well, same goes for a 128GB storage variant. We’ll talk more about that later on. Redmi also added a new color in the mix, the so-called Cool Black variant.

Those are basically the only changes compared to the regular K20 Pro. Other than that, everything else is the same, including the phone’s design.

Redmi basically wanted to introduce a Snapdragon 855 Plus-powered phone, and this is the end result. This is the most premium device that you can get from the company, without a doubt.

The device features the same design as the Redmi K20 Pro

The phone is made out of metal and glass, and it features a pop-up selfie camera. Three vertically-aligned cameras are still present on the back, while the phone offers really thin bezels.

The Redmi K20 Pro Premium Edition includes a flat display on the front. Under that display lies an optical fingerprint scanner. All the physical buttons sit on the right-hand side of this phone.

The K20 Pro Premium Edition includes a 6.39-inch fullHD+ (2340 x 1080) AMOLED display. That display is protected by a sheet of Gorilla Glass 5.

12GB of RAM & 512GB of storage

The phone is equipped with 8GB / 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM, 128GB / 512GB of UFS 2.1 storage. Android 9 Pie comes pre-installed on the phone, along with MIUI 10 skin.

Two SIM card slots are a part of the package, as is a 4,000mAh battery. The phone supports 27W fast wired charging, and features a 3.5mm headphone jack. Wireless charging is still not supported.

48, 8, and 13-megapixel cameras sit on the back of the phone. A 48-megapixel camera utilizes Sony’s IMX586 sensor, and that is the main camera on this phone.

A 20-megapixel unit is included on the phone’s front side. The phone measures 156.7 x 74.3 x 8.8, and weighs 191 grams.

The phone with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage is priced at 2,699 Yuan ($380), while the model with the same amount of RAM and 512GB costs 2,999 Yuan ($422). 8GB and 12GB RAM variants with 512GB of storage cost 2,999 Yuan ($423) and 3,199 Yuan ($451). It seems like Redmi will discount the top-end model to 2,999 Yuan until September 23. All of these variants are already available in China, and it remains to be seen if they’ll reach global markets.
