Samsung Galaxy Fold Pre-Registrations Now Open In The US & UK

A recent report suggested that the Samsung Galaxy Fold will be re-released on September 6 at IFA 2019 in Berlin. Well, it seems like that information may be spot on. The Galaxy Fold pre-registrations are now open in the US and the UK.

So, the US and the UK are about a week behind China, as the Galaxy Fold pre-registrations in that country started exactly a week ago.

If you live in the US or the UK and you would like to reserve your Galaxy Fold, we’ve included such links down below.

Even the pricing structure for AT&T is mentioned by Samsung, and pictured in an image below the article. The phone is priced at $1,980 outright, or you can get it for $65.99 over 30 months (at 0-percent APR), as stated below. Various combinations will be available, that’s for sure.

Galaxy Fold shipping to consumers in Korea on September 11?

That’s not all, though. A separate report claims that the Galaxy Fold consumers in South Korea will have the device on September 11. Those of them who pre-order it, that is. At least that’s the date that is highlighted at KT Shop in Korea. Consumers in Europe and the US will have to wait a bit longer, though.

Needless to say, this is not the first launch of the Galaxy Fold we’ve seen. Samsung had everything in place months ago, but then stumbled upon some issues.

Early review units that were sent to people in the industry were faulty. Those units had obvious display issues, which is why Samsung had to postpone the launch in order to amend such issues.

It took the company quite a bit of time to get everything in order, which is not surprising considering how many units got produced. Samsung assures everyone that issues have been fixed.

Luckily for Samsung, such issues became obvious before a single unit was shipped towards consumers, otherwise the company would have faced yet another major blunder, as with the Galaxy Note 7.

The Samsung Galaxy Fold is the company’s very first foldable smartphone. The device is made out of metal and glass, while it features three cameras on the back.

Two displays and powerful specs

The phone includes two display. The main one measures 7.3 inches in diagonal, while the secondary one comes in at 4.6 inches. The phone is fueled by the Snapdragon 855 64-bit octa-core processor.

The Galaxy Fold sports stereo speakers, and a 4,380mAh battery. 15W wired and wireless charging is included here, and so is reverse wireless charging. The phone also includes 12GB of RAM. The Galaxy Fold will compete with the likes of the Huawei Mate X which is expected to arrive soon as well. Motorola and Xiaomi are planning to introduce foldable devices in the coming months as well.
