The Google Play Store is home to many keyboard apps. Just because your Android phone comes with a specific keyboard, that doesn’t mean it’s the best choice for you. Different keyboards offer different features, and even different input options.
Having said that, we’ve compiled a list of our favorite keyboard apps for Android, You will find nine keyboard apps listed down below, some of which you’ve probably heard of already. Gboard is the most popular Android keyboard for Android, as it’s an official keyboard from Google, but there are many great choices.
Before you start browsing, do note that these applications are not listed in a specific order. Just because one is listed ahead of the other does not really mean anything.
SwiftKey
SwiftKey is one of the most popular keyboard apps in the market. Microsoft acquired SwiftKey a while back, and the keyboard improved quite a bit over the years. SwiftKey is a multilingual keyboard which offers great text prediction, and many theme options. The app supports over 300 languages. It also supports GIFs, and various stickers. SwiftKey is free to download and use.
Kika Keyboard
Kika Keyboard may not be as popular as SwiftKey, but it sure is a great solution. This keyboard has a really high rating in the Play Store, for a reason. There are over 60 keyboard layouts available in this app. Slide input is supported here, while the app’s auto-correction is really good as well. Kika Keyboard offers voice typing as well, while there are a ton of theming options that you can try out.
Facemoji Keyboard
Facemoji Keyboard is one of the lightest keyboards for Android. This app weighs only 7MB, and it has a ton of options. There are over 3,600 emojis available in the app. Emotions are supported as well, while you have plenty of customization options here. This app comes with solid text prediction, and also emoji prediction. You can swipe to type, and the developer does not collect personal information without your permission.
Gboard
Gboard is, next to SwiftKey, the most popular keyboard solution for Android. This is Google’s very own application, and it comes with great text prediction. Glide typing is included here, and you can choose between quite a few themes as well. Emoji search is supported, and so is handwritting. Gboard also supports multilingual typing, and Google Translate comes baked into the app.
Cheetah Keyboard
Cheetah Keyboard is yet another great keyboard that you may not have heard of. This app comes with gesture typing, and it has great auto-correction. The app also includes hundreds of keyboard themes, while emojis and stickers are supported. GIFs are supported by this application as well. Cheetah Keyboard allows you to select your own photo for the keyboard background, and even edit the font.
Fleksy
Fleksy is considerably different than other keyboards on this list. This app relies heavily on gestures, and it does not support swipe-to-type option. Its gestures are great, though, and can make your typing even faster. The app does require some getting used to, but it’s worth it. The app supports GIFs, and you have quite a few theming options here. It also supports over 45 languages.
GO Keyboard
Go Keyboard puts huge emphasis on themes, emojis, and GIFs. This application allows you to heavily edit the look of the keyboard you’ll use. There are tons of emojis and GIFs that you can use, while auto-correction is not bad either. Gesture typing is supported, and the same can be said for voice typing. You can choose between various layouts for this keyboard, while tons of languages are supported.
FancyKey Keyboard
FancyKey Keyboard is one of the most customizable keyboards available in the Play Store. This app comes with 70+ fonts, 50+ themes, and 50+ typing sounds, believe it or not. The app also includes over 3,200 emojis, emoticons, and emoji arts. FancyKey Keyboard supports over 50 languages, and it also includes the clipboard functions. Swipe-to-type option is included here as well, while you can choose between multiple typing effects.
Grammarly Keyboard
Grammarly Keyboard is one of the newer additions to the Android keyboard space. Thanks to the popularity of Grammarly as a whole, this app managed to become quite popular. This is the ultimate keyboard for keeping grammar-related mistakes out of your typing. It comes with a sophisticated grammar checker, and contextual spelling checker. It also has advanced punctuation correction, and offers vocabulary enhancements.
